Would like to erase the 2010.30 map now that i have downloaded the 2010.40 map to my computer. Want to avoid clutter and using up disk space on the computer. Thanks.

how do I set proximity alarm to a new distance on a streetpilot c340 for my poi

With the lifetime updates , I can up date my Garmin 1490T 4 times a year, will my unit run out of drive space? Do they replace the old map with the new one? Thanks for the help!

I kind of am, but especially on prices that are obtainable on the web. I even thought the co. was European (nuvi?) but when I read up on it, boy was I in for a surprise, it's American. I had always wondered why made in Taiwan, but then I read up on the co......

Firefox version 3.6 is available. If you do not already have Garmin Communicator 2.9.1.0, you will have to update that as well. Garmin Communicator download is here http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/

It did not work at first, but I uninstalled Garmin Communicator 2.8.xxx and reinstalled 2.9.1.0 and the Garmin test page says it's working OK now.

Ok I only want to be able to simply save any favorites I find while driving across the US to my SD Card.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 760.

How do I do this? thanks!

I load my poi's manually.
There seems to be a set pattern in the loader for each file in that it keeps coming up with a set alert pattern each and every time I load. I have to change it every time.
How/can I change this to fit my priorities.
There does not appear to be any trigger words in the file name.
Can someone shed some light on this?

So you spent the past three hours downloading the new garmin_rmu_cnnant2010_40 map update. Everything goes well and you receive a maps successfully loaded massage.

You disconnect your Nuvi from your computer, watch it boot up, only to see "can't unlock maps". Your first thought? WTF.

When i run the test in the diagnostic screen and hit inventory it shows the map i have installed along with a bunch of other things and for some reason it says failed beside it and some other things say erased. Is this a problem that i can fix, or somthing i shouldnt worry about? please help

Which is better to use to donwload new updated maps. The Webupdater or the Garmin My Dashboard.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 200, our first GPS. Since I have found this site, we've put several POI's in it to visit.

One thing I had wanted to put on this unit was the NPS Register of Historical Places. The one for our region (South) is almost 5 megs in size.

So I am happy that I was able to update my recently purchase 1300 to 2010_40, but I have a questions.

Once the map was downloaded into the gps unit I get the following message.

"Due to file size limitations, regional maps have been installed to the connected device. MapInstall may be used to transfer other rgions to an SD card for use when inserted into the GPS unit."

Do any of the new Garmin's display the upcoming street name anymore? I drive a delivery truck and this helps after the snowplows knock down the street signs. My 200w does this but my new 205w does not

I recently go my wife a 265WT. She reported to me that on trip to an unfamiliar location, the 265WT took her on a freeway and told her that she has arrived, right on the freeway! She double checked that she has entered the address correctly.

Can Batteries Plus replace the battery in the 265WT

I recently moved from PC w/ XP to PC w/Windows 7.

I d/l Poiloader and attempted to update the POIs in my 680.

I followed the instructions in this post: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/85.

Poiloader freezes at the update step. I researched this site and googled it. No luck.

Any suggestions?
