When i run the test in the diagnostic screen and hit inventory it shows the map i have installed along with a bunch of other things and for some reason it says failed beside it and some other things say erased. Is this a problem that i can fix, or somthing i shouldnt worry about? please help
Oh and the map seems to look ok and nothing seems to be missing tried reintalling the map but test still fails. what does this mean?

Did you change anything? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW, unless you're very computer literate, or a long time GPS user that's savvy, I'd stay out of those secret screens, or you may brick the unit.

Failed.

Which item says "failed"? The map or one of the other lines?

Is this an error on the main screen, or just in diagnostics?

Have you updated the firmware / software via myGarmin? If not, try that to see if it corrects your error.

No i didnt change anything,

No i didnt change anything, i do know my way around computers pretty well i'm not an expert or anything but i will take your advice and leave things alone from now on .
I did updat the firmware and on the garmin web site it does say that the software is up to date. I have the preinstalled cityxplorer north america updated to 2010-30, from the 60day free map update, and that is the file that says failed, also it says PROM1 on the left where it shows what type of item it is that it tested.

Try re-installing the map update again. Sometimes they do error.
