265WT mis-interprets POI location?

I recently go my wife a 265WT. She reported to me that on trip to an unfamiliar location, the 265WT took her on a freeway and told her that she has arrived, right on the freeway! She double checked that she has entered the address correctly.

After some research, I found that the intended POI is on a road crossing UNDER the freeway, near the freeway overpass. It would appear the 265WT thinks the freeway is a cross street.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Is there a fix for this?

.

There's really no fix because the POI locations are not identified by elevation. If two roads are one of top of the other, the unit will have make it's "best guess" as to how to navigate to the location.

Not that although an address was entered, the unit is navigating to a specific spot correlating to the latitude and longitude that it identifies as being associated with that street address.

"best guess"

Great answer! Now we've learned the GPS only takes you to the latitude and longitude, not by the elevation when you enter an address. I won't forget the word ""best guess"". Thank you.
As human we are, we have to use our common sense where we going at least the GPS bring you to the place. Up & Down is what we have to choose.

Thanks again Motorcycle Mama's to make this Q; clear.
