I am trying to add my POI's to the POI manager so I can up/download? them into my mag4040 and It will not take the address I have from this site of a negative number.. it keep saying I must add a number between 0 and 90 the numbers are -81.5766 and 28.34617.
In case you can't tell I am VERY new to this (first post and first day on this site)
are there step by step instructions anywhere as to how i add them then get them into the darn thing! wink

Check to make sure that you did have the longtitude and latitude are in the correct order.

A little clarification is needed. My 4000 came with POI Editor...not manager. When I open a .csv file with it, it first brings up an Import Wizard.
The column with negtive numbers is LONGITUDE but even if I do that wrong, it doesn't give an error like you listed.
Maybe the software has changed ??

Magellan Maestro 4250// MIO C310X

mag4040

Not familiar with this unit but done some research and found the manual on the internet and starting on page 28 shows how to do what you want. http://www.magellangps.com/assets/manuals/Maestro_4040_Manua...

clarification

The 4040 does use a POI Manager. What I cannot do is get the addres into the POI manager to save to an SD card, install into the sd slot and access from the unit. I open the program and try to type in the coordinates and it will not take the negative number. There appear to be no instructions on how to use the POI manager. When I type the co-ordinates into the POI manager it gives me the message that I must enter a number between 0 and 90.
the coordinates from this site are as listed int he presvious post. Do I need to convert them somehow or are otheres able to enter the numbers as a negative. Thanks for all the help

Got IT!

Thanks for the clarification... I was putting the numbers in as they were listed in the sprdsht and that was wrong, I had to reverse them, It asks for latitude first. I also had to enter the Longitude as a whole number and the manager changes it to a negative number. The help function was quite usesless, but this board wasn't! Thanks
