I am going for a long planned trip to Utah next week. Being a GPS freak, I have collected almost 300 coordinates all across the state. I have crated the .mgln file using the poi file editor and then copied the file under the USR/ CPOI directory in my Magellan 1475T GPS.
I can't transfer a POI from the Magellan POI file editor. Every time I try, the editor says no GPS unit is detected. Yet, the GPS displays "the usb has been connected to the unit", Windows device manager shows that a Magellan RoadMate is connected by the usb cable and is working successfully. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3. Is there another driver I need to load?
I have one and it's great. Can't go wrong at $150.00
New map on sale for $49 till 10/21- also increased AAA discount from 15% to 50% for map updates, unfortunately cannot combine with sale price but makes it $40.
Asked in another post if there is room on map SD for POI files also.
I have had Magellan GPS units since they came out, a really long time.
Right now I have a Maestro 4040 and a Maestro 4250, the 4250 has traffic receiver in the cord.
Recently I had been using a Garmin 1300 unit which has "free" traffic, not really free but ad supported. I just mailed it back to Garmin since the traffic wasn't working reliably.
So I am back to the Magellan unit and I have a few months of traffic subscription on it, after which they will be wanting me to pay for that traffic.
I can't see why anyone would do that.
I can't seem to find this program anywhere. can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Hi Folks, Does anyone know how I can get file editor for my Magellan 3065? I bought it about a month ago and it did not have a disc in there. I'm assuming I need that before I can download the POIs

I just updated Extra_POI_Editor to support saving to MGLN files. You can now open/edit/save POI files of the following formats: GPX, OV2, MGLN, CSV, XLS, KML, ... files.
Let me know if there are issues.
N.B. link is:
This is my first Magellan GPS. I was watching a review on the 1475t. The icon to add xtra destinations is missing. Unless im mistaken....when you enter an address...The Go button is on the right side and a smaller icon on the lower left side is there for adding xtra destinations. I don't have that. Again, am I mistaken? How do you set up multi-destinations. Any help would be appreciated.
I notice when I have tried to go to a certain location in area in town from an exit ramp, it wants me to get off the ramp then turn left (south) then do a U turn as soon as I can and go back the other direction (north)--the direction I could have turned off the ramp in in the first place. This is not a new road (15 yrs at least).
how do you you access windows ce
Simple fix--I think. Go buy a Garmin power cord. I tried a Garmin 1490 cord and you can remove the Magellan from the mount without having to disconnect first.
I'm no electronics person so there might be a good mathematical reason as to why this should not be done, but it does work the unit just fine.
Magellan said that for the 4700 there is no loader or editor, thus no way to load extra POIs. Is there another way to load convert and them?
At Buy.com, with Highway lane assist, add free upgrade to 2010 Maps on Magellan site..
Amazon deal of the day - A good deal for a back up or gift, plus there's the new map update.
Where can I get a poi loader for a Magellan device? Thanks
I am trying to find lake maps for my magellan "crossover". Specifically, "magellan mapsend lakes USA north" Certain versions are no longer available. Does anybody know if the software at the following web address will work with a magellan crossover.
