Ticket cameras

Does anyone know if Mass. and/or RI have speed cameras?I've seen many states listed here yet very little for these 2 states which surprises me seeing how populated these states are.

Some cities have red light traffic cameras in high traffic accident intersections to help cut down the amount of right angle crashes and also cut down on red light running. If you go past a certain mark in the intersection after the light turns red your car will be photographed and you will receive a ticket in the mail.

I paid my $5 but didnt get a link to click on, so I couldnt download the Red Light POIs. What do I do now?

There is a camera in Belle Harbor, Queens, known on maps as Rockaway Park, Queens. Seems not to be in the database. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Robert F., I don't know about Tulsa, but here's how our paper explained it: What counts as running a red light? Radar triggers the camera system each time a vehicle enters a monitored intersection after a traffic light turns red. Cameras then snap two pictures: One shows that the front of the vehicle in question has not yet entered the intersection upon the light turning red, and the other shows the vehicle continuing through the intersection.

That's the headlines in today's Dallas Morn. News. The newest going into operation is at: 1.Commerce Street and Central Expressway. 2. Lemmon Avenue and Mockingbird Lane. 3. Abrams Road and Forest Lane, and 4. Fitzhugh and Gaston Avenues.
These are the first active installations among 60 cameras Dallas plans to operate by April. The TV news said they would not advise where the other 54 locations would be.

I just loaded the Redlight Cameras POIs onto my Garmin 530. But it there's actually TWO files/catagories listed, both with the same name (Redlight Cameras).

Are these duplicate files? Or is it one file split into two?

As I continue my work on the red light cameras, my list of cities gets smaller and the information gets harder to find. So I am still working really hard it just takes a bit more research and digging to find what I am looking for. I do have another batch that should be going up today.

Still haven't heard any word on if they are planning to turn the RedLight Cams back on but I did find you some really good information. Sorry that these are not Cordinates but they are the Correct locations of ALL
the RedLight and Speed Radar Cams in Charlotte, NC.

Where are the red-light cameras?

Charlotte, NC uses cameras to help police officers ticket speeders and red-light runners. If those cameras snap a picture of your license tag, you'll soon find a $50 ticket in the mail. No license or insurance points are applied. The ticket is sent to the vehicle's registered owner. The intersections with red-light cameras have signs notifying drivers. And the cameras themselves are easy to spot. They're mounted on poles and enclosed in a long, cream-colored metal box.

I have installed the Red Light Cameras POI into my Nuvi 660

Will they be installed into the main map screen or do I have to select the POI file every time I want to see them? This also goes for all POI's, do they need to be individually selected to see them?

I was leaving my office in Dallas late one night two months ago, and there's an intersection not far from there where they had just installed "test" cameras. It was like 9:30 at night, no traffic at all, pulled up to the stop light in the left turn lane, light turned green, so I proceeded through, and noticed half way through the intersection a photo flash. Well, talk about getting your dander up!

I found a report on the effectiveness of the photoblocker spray and thought I would share this with all of you, we all know that this stuff doesn't really work. I am amazed that people out there produce this stuff and that there are people out there gullible enough to buy it and use it.

Yes it is time to expand our horizons to Canada, I have seen a lot of new registered users on the list from Canada and thought it was about time we got some Red light camera data for them too. I should have this file up by the end of the week.
