Mass. and RI cameras

Does anyone know if Mass. and/or RI have speed cameras?I've seen many states listed here yet very little for these 2 states which surprises me seeing how populated these states are.

It all depends on the state laws. Some states have voted against having red light cameras.

Mass Cams

I've seen red light cams in various places in Ma, but have not heard of anyone getting ticketed yet.

I am more scared of speed

I am more scared of speed cameras then red light. RD helps with that though

For legal reasons they

For legal reasons they aren't in use yet in Mass. I install intersections and I have never wired a camera yet. So far as I know none are scheduled in the future. If I hear something different I'll post here. If we have camera's why do we need police? I believe that's the argument from the police. I can't blame them for not wanting them. At times there are reasons we must speed or run a red light and camera's do not care why you do what you do police however do understand and if unjustified you will get a ticket. I agree with that because I work construction and in the road many times and we do many unorthodox things that must be done to do our work. Camera's don't understand that. Machines control our lives more than I like. People DO matter!

Re: Mass and RI Cameras

raybonz,

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safetey's website, the town of Saugus, MA utilizes speed camera enforcement:

http://www.iihs.org/research/topics/sc_cities.html

Curiously, they are also the only city in Mass to use red light camera enforcement.

Providence is listed as the only red light camera city in R.I.:

Hope this helps!

Re: Yes they have one however it

Interesting... I imagine you would have pretty good grounds to fight against the city in court if you get a ticket.
Thanks!
