Did I get tagged..?

Well, I'm kind of scared because I got a certified letter in the mail from the Dallas police. This is the ONLY thing I can think of it being... The thing is I can't recall running a red light. I don't remember the flash that you all are talking about.

I live in Euless and drive to Irving every day. I'm rarely in Dallas. Anyone have any idea if they deliver these via certified mail? I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning.

That isn't good at all

Yeah that stinks. I found a Georgia poi list of all the red light cameras and it is great. It warns me everytime i approach a redlight. it is pretty great. Hope you fix whatever has happened.

That's awesome...

I'm just wondering if that's that certified letter could be...

Can you fight it?

I am just wondering if the ticket is for the driver or vehicle, especially if it is for a speeding ticket? If someone is driving your car and they speed by a camera and get tagged, the owner of the vehicle gets the ticket. Can't you argue you weren't the driver?

FL NO CAMERAS

Thats one of the reasons FL, has done away with the Camera test areas they were doing.
They even had a 2 camera system, one of the plate, and one of the driver, but it didn't work so well.
Good luck on the fight.
Let us know how you make out.

You CAN fight it... The

You CAN fight it... The problem is, at least in Ga., is that they send the ticket to the registered owner of the vehicle. If you are not the driver at the time of the Red Light camera photo, they will give you a waver or a legal document that you 'swear' it wasnt you and you must report who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. I think you can only state you were not the driver once in a 12 month period.

Since they send the letter to the owner of the vehicle, the thought process is that you SHOULD know who's driving the vehicle. smile

Hope that helps.

Same in NY

A coworker had lent her car to her brother who got caught by a camera in Queens. She fought it - but had to report out her brother in the process.

travich, On a bright day, depending on the sun, you may not see the flash. I heard they was putting them all over the Arlington area. Have you been there? Certified mail sounds pretty important to me. I'd study on that a bit.

Flash!

Believe me, many times, the flash is so fast, you don't get to see it because we are still concentrating on trying to make it across the intersection. It's kind of hard trying to fight a Red Light Camera citation especially when they have positive proof of the violation, but anything is possible!

NYC does have a lot!

You are quite right. NYC does have alot of Red Light Cameras. That is why I had installed the POI into my Palmpilot with an advance warning sound of 200 yards. This way, it will notify me way before I get to any RLC. It does help but it still doesn't replace common sense when approaching one and having the urge, like many of us, flooring the gas and playing the I can beat the red light game. smile

Hey shadow did you just pull

Hey shadow did you just pull out the NYC ones specifically from the file you got here?
