Street Names (formerly BETA)
The red light and speed camera files now both include street names. (This feature was previously being tested in the "redlight-beta" file.)
ABBREVIATIONS
RLC = red light camera
Speed = speed camera
R/Speed = red light & speed camera (combo)
DUPLICATE STREET NAMES
To eliminate duplicate names, some locations may have s# added to the end (e.g., RLC - Main & Broadway s2).

Missouri moving towards Red Light Camera ban

Still a long way to go, but on a 23-8 vote, the Senate approved an amendment to a larger transportation bill. The amendment would ban the use of red light cameras in Missouri.
The Senate also passed an amendment to ban speed cameras.

How do I provide location of new Safety Cameras?
I am new to this forum, and new to GPS devices. On my travels I have found traffic cameras that are not on your list (I think). How do I provide information for the database?

Vote to Ban Red Light Cameras
Anaheim, California voters will have the opportunity to vote to ban red light cameras on the November ballot. The may is spearheading the issue He said he does not want future city governments to be tempted to collect revenues on the back of public safety. Other California cities are also reviewing the cost benefit of red light cameras but Anaheim is the only one so far to make it a ballot issue.

POI factory red light camera database is awesome!
My wife got a red light camera ticket in the mail a couple of weeks ago (before I got a GPS).
I loaded the red light camera file from this website onto the GPS a couple of days ago and checked the intersection where she got her ticket to see if it was there. Sure enough, the GPS showed that there was a red light camera at that intersection!

Here's a head scratcher for all you Arizonians...
Redflex (the private, third party company maintaining all all the speed and red-light enforcement cameras in the state) claim substantial safety improvements through better law enforcement with their cameras.

Zachary LA purchases 3 new mobile speed cameras
Just received my first souvenir citation on a visit back to my home town. The speed trap was a white trailer that looked like the small trailers with lights on a boom that are used in construction zones. This particular unit had 4 cameras hanging from the boom in black plastic globes(like the shoplifting cameras at the store), and a flash pointed in each direction.

Anaheim wants ban on red-light cameras in the city

The Anaheim City Council on Tuesday night expressed support for an city charter amendment that would ban the systems that photograph and ticket motorists for allegedly running red lights from being installed in the city.

Red Light Cameras
I live in the NYC Metro area, and so do many of my friends. I'm sure it may be different all over the country... but here's my general question:
A friend told me that she received a red light ticket because she was in the box during a yellow light, and did not make it out of the box by the red light. I don't believe that is true.
From the one ticket I got, the camera takes two pictures:
