Camera Locations

Is there a way to view a map displaying the current camera locations on a computer?

I imported the CSV into Extra POI Editor

I imported the CSV into Extra POI Editor and saved it as a gpx file and them opened it (the gpx file) in Basecamp or Mapsource and can see all of them as waypoints

Red Light Camera locations

I did a BING search for Red Light Camera Locations, and came up with many interesting hits. There are sites that will note camera locations on Google maps based on zip codes, etc.
One site had listings of NYC cameras, comments, and their current status (cross streets, specific locations as in "next to riteaid", "destroyed by local residents", etc.)

Thanks for replying. I did

Thanks for replying.

I did mean to display the camera location on a computer from the data on this site.

Nassau County, NY

Mike,

See this link for Nassau County locations. All of them are included in the POI Factory red light camera file -

We need all the help we can get in reporting new locations, especially in Suffolk County in the future. To report a location, click on the link in the right column of this page, "report an enforcement camera," and you will become a POI Factory contributor and receive a personal email of thanks from Miss POI!

Thanks again Dobs. I will

Thanks again Dobs. I will definitely post any cameras that I become aware of that aren't listed.

The cameras that I knew of where on old country rd and Merrick Ave., and Salisbury Park drive and those are listed. There are cameras in both east and west directions at the Merrick Avenue intersections. I'm not sure about the Salisbury Park Drive though.

I also know there have been discussions about putting one on Jackson Avenue and Convent rd in syosset, but it's not there yet.

Import Data function on MS Streets & Trips

I do this all the time with MS Streets & Trips, which I have installed on my computer. You can import data such as the CSV files on POI Factory, and the custom POIs appear on the map. You can also import the custom symbol (by default, it uses a colored pushpin).

This is helpful when verifying the accuracy of a POI file (e.g., making sure locations are not located in the "middle of nowhere" or anywhere that doesn't seem right). It is quicker to scan the MS Streets & Trips map that is loaded on my hard drive compared to looking at a map that is downloaded from the Internet.
