Ticket cameras

Has anyone had issues with getting tickets for a left turn with an arrow when there are red light cameras.
I just got my second ticket and I was turning with the light.

Is this the end for red light cameras?

There seems to be a strange whiff of honesty swirling around the robot policemen known as red light cameras.

According to the dictionary, "highway" means any public roads. However, I thought it meant something similar to freeway all my life.

The reason why I'm asking is because I got cited on a local road, but the officer marked it as highway.

Any thoughts?

I notice that in the Big D, it seems that every approach to a 4-way intersection will have a photo enforced sign, but many of them only have one camera looking at travel through one of the streets in the 4-way intersection. Is there any reasoning behind it? One would seem that a red light intersection should cover all streets to be effective.

While visiting Miami I found 3 missing cameras in the file by where we were staying, if you are headed for the keys you will pass them.

I saw an ad in a Motor trend magazine for a website called phantomalert.com. It's a subscription based database that bills itself as the "world's largest driver generated database". They offer subscriptions from monthly up to lifetime. They say that it includes red light and speed cameras, speed traps, dui checkpoints, school zones, and construction zones.

Not a done deal, but this appears to be a decision which was influenced by both safety and money:

"The civilian board that oversees the Los Angeles Police Department has put the brakes on the city’s red-light traffic camera program.

The Police Commission agreed Tuesday to reject a proposal from police officials to award a new contract to the company that has been operating the cameras.

It should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Hi,

I downloaded the rlc and speed-camera files for the first time today.

The speed camera file has under 500 lines.

Is this the entire nationwide database?
Or is it just the database for areas near my home?

If there is anyone from Globe, AZ on here and you have the time, could you provide some very useful redlight/speed camera info to Miss POI?

While passing through Globe, AZ this week I notice quite a few cameras while going through the main drag, i.e., U.S. 60 highway.

I provided the locations of 3 of the cameras but there were quite a few more that I was unable to log down.
