I have mixed feelings on this. The trial will not be right away so will the lab tech really remember that specific test and results or will a police office really remember that speed reading for that specific ticket? Sure some may stand out but all of them? On the other hand to automatically assume an electronic device NEVER gives out bad information is unrealistic either. Ever had a Nuvi give wrong directions??

In NYC every cop I know makes notes for every moving violation they write. That is why when they get called to court you get convicted, they refer to the notes and testify.
It is also why when you have been ticketed by an officer that had to fill a quota ( you know the non-existent quota )and the officer knows that the ticket is bogus many of them will say "I have have no recollection of the event" and the judge dismisses the citation with a "not guilty" ruling.
I have witnessed this in person as an officer said this in 2-3 times when he was giving evidence in 8 or 9 cases in an afternoon court secession.
