Red light cameras

As a former LEO, I have never believed in the usefulness of red light cameras. I see them as a money making tool for local governments. If you want to enforce red light violations, station a uniformed officer at the intersection and have them enforce the law and issue citations. Just the fines and bonds alone would pay for the officer's salary and I believe would be more beneficial. The people would also be more accepting of this type of enforcement rather than being cited by a camera.
