Traffic cameras not profitable for Arizona cities

Oh, it's profitable. Just not for the taxpayers. The state and the red light cam company seem to do quite well!

Profitable Or They Wouldn't Keep Adding More

Oh, they're profitable. That's why more and more cities, towns and small municipalities are adding them. Especially the smaller towns that do not get much visitors/vacationers. They will get those out-of-towners just passin' thru.

aside from install costs,

aside from install costs, all signs here in NYS show red light cams are very profitable. low over-head, 24 hour operation and plenty of people running red lights = huge $$$
