Good article, thanks for posting it. From corruption, to fraud, to intentionally shortened yellow light periods designed to trap drivers, to increased accidents rates at intersections with RLC, to criminal activities by the owners of the RLC companies, the whole shebang stinks to high heaven and RLC should be outlawed.

Good article. It does surprise me that there isn’t more outrage regarding these cameras. Can you imagine the outcry if a police officer’s salary was tied the number of tickets he wrote?

My son is a CHP officer. He said they hate the RLC. The CHP recognize that the cameras are only for revenue and that they actually cause increased rear end crashes.
What's amazing about the number of tickets written is how many tickets he DOESN'T issue compared to the number he actually could issue. You have to be really blatantly speeding (15mph or more over the limit) or else doing something dangerous before he pulls you over -- and he still writes a high number of citations.

Easy answer - drive slower and keep your distance.
RLCs are not the problem. Driving habits are.
Having said that, I agree with #1 and #2. Corruption and funding foreign corporations are something I do NOT support.
Most of my friends are COPS
They hate them - period. One of my cop buddies said he has gotten tickets from them and he throws them away. If you're not legally served, they can't do anything about it. It's all for revenue they say.
