Subaru Forester No More (Still have the Garmin Nuvi 650)

Well our 2015 Subaru was totaled by an uninsured motorist who had her driver's license revoked. Fortunately we had uninsured motorist insurance. Now we have a new 2019 Subaru with in-dash navigation so we don't have to use our Nuvi 650.

GPS devices after April 6th???

See https://www.pcmag.com/news/366521/your-gps-devices-may-stop-....

Does anyone have a feel for how the common OEM's (Garmin, TomTom, etc) of GPS units may be handling this?

Contributors Of The Week 2019-01-28

I received a suggestion this week:

"I'd like to nominate Mcginkleschmidt for Contributor Of the Week for
making the 2020.10 update's large .jcv file available.
Not only is it available but it's available in unzipped format. That was a heck of a nice job."

So this week's Contributor of the Week is Mcginkleschmidt!

Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – February 2019

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

On line taxes

Interested on some feedback from users who actually use a on line tax service. Have used a tax preparer for years but thinking about trying one on line. Turbo Tax looks good and is listed on the IRS site. Like others a little concerned about the security . Any positive thoughts?

In dash GPS wins, well yesterday it did

I have an in dash Garmin based GPS (430n) in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. It works as expected and POI's can be loaded, albeit painfully.

Vehicles with Lifetime GPS Maps

I am thinking about getting a new truck soon and I am wondering if any of the manufacturers of 1 ton pickups have GPS with lifetime maps. Currently my Ford wants $150 for an update which I refuse to pay.

I would also like to be able to upload POIs.

Why is the POI Factory website listed as 'NOT SECURE'?

Most every website has long-since moved to a secure HTTPS protocol, however this site is still HTTP (Insecure). It should be HTTPS (Secure).
