Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – June 2018

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

FBI Warns To Reboot Your Router

The FBI is advising all those with home and small business routers to reboot them immediately due to a malware threat:

POI Factory Password

I regularly receive an incorrect password message when logging in after being away for 4-5 days. It is easily corrected with the forgotten PW link to my email but takes a couple more steps.

Does anyone else have this problem?

GPS Receiver For Clock Time?

I have been using my old Sony Dream Machine AM/FM/TV/Weatherband clock radio for years now. When I bought it years ago, I liked having the ability to receive TV audio. That was before digital (ATSC) TV, so that is no longer an option. Anyway, I like how it works, EXCEPT that it does not keep great time. That has prompted me to start looking for a suitable replacement.

Making my GPS follow the route I created in BC

I can't understand why Garmin has done this, Google too.

I create routes in an online program called RV Trip Wizard. I export the route as a .GPX file and import it into Base Camp. Base camp accepts the route as a track exactly as I created it in RV Trip Wizard. I convert the track to a route and send it to my Garmin RV 660 GPS. So far so good.

Windows 10 Version 1803.

I just recently received the Windows 10 version 1803 update. For those who have not or reviewed the changes. Information can be found here at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/planning...

CSV file to large for Google Maps

I'm trying to use the Rest stops POI file with Google Maps. When I try to download the rest stops POI file into a new layer in Google Maps I get a failed to download message that states: "The column names cannot be larger than 64 characters or include these characters: *<>{} "

Does anybody have a fix for this?

Thanks, Tim

Yet another bunch of Microsoft Surfaces don’t work with Win10 version 1803

If you shelled out $3,000 to $4,500 for a Surface Studio, you may be a bit disconcerted to discover that many don’t work with the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803. Mice and keyboards keep disconnecting.
