Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – November 2017

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

What privacy?

I have Windows 10 on my laptop and Win10 comes with a calendar. I've just this past week started using the calendar. Well, a couple of days ago I opened it in the morning and found that someone (Microsoft, Google, who knows) had filled in the day of each month that my wife and I will receive our Social Security checks.

convert csv files to gpx

Surly this has been covered but I'm new to the forum. Heck I'm new to GPS, Basecamp and I'm not great on computers. I've watched all Norwood's tutorials which are great by the way but I am having trouble converting csv files to gpx. I've downloaded GPS Babel in which one of two things happen. One, it says successful but then I can't find the new gpx file anywhere on my computer.

Edsel

Saw an Edsel Corsair in real good shape today in a local parking lot, I've always liked odd/different things, count the Edsel among them.

Built the same year I was ....

Side by side comparison of Garmin Cyclops and POI Factory Camera apps

I recently had an opportunity to run a real world, side by side test of Garmin Cyclops and POI Factory red light and speed camera performance during a 500+ mile trip.

I just purchased a Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S to replace my retiring Garmin 3597 LMT. The DriveLuxe came loaded with the latest (I checked) version of the Cyclops software, and the 3597 had the latest POI Factory update.

EU Privacy Chiefs: WhatsApp's Data Sharing With Facebook Not Compliant With Data Protection Laws

Last year, the Article 29 Working Party (WP29), which consists of all the leaders of the national Data Protection agencies in the European Union, started investigating WhatsApp over its data sharing with Facebook. Following its investigation, the group sent a letter to Facebook in which it notified the company that WhatsApp is still not abiding by European Union (EU) privacy laws.

Arm Launches Security Framework As IoT Devices Promise To Make Everything Less Secure

It’s no secret by now that the vast majority of (Internet of Things) IoT devices have little to no security, as well as a poor track record of support. This can and has caused many issues over the years, for both the customers who bought those devices and the companies being targeted by botnets that are powered by hacked IoT devices.

FYI - Google Worked With Comcast to Kill California Privacy Bill - Tuesday Oct 24 2017 14:00 EDT

Google, Facebook, Comcast and other large ISPs teamed up to kill a California bill intended to protect broadband user privacy in the state. The law was intended to replace FCC broadband privacy rules killed by the GOP and Trump administration earlier this year that would have forced companies like Comcast to transparently indicate how your private data is being sold -- and who it's being sold to.

I just noticed a member with a Past COW badge. I was a COW many, many years ago and I don't have the badge. I'm just curious what one needs to do to obtain the badge?
