Phone companies can now block robocalls automatically

A start in the right direction but a mandate will likely be needed to the phone companies.

75th Anniversary of D-Day

This is a day to remember and honor the brave soldiers who both put their lives in jeopardy and gave their lives in order to begin the maneuvers required to free Europe from the Nazi stranglehold.

lest we forget

75 years ago today Operation Overlord began with the landing of allied troops on beaches in the Normandy region of France. We all owe a great deal to those soldiers, sailors, airmen and others that laid down their lives that day. I, for one, am proud of each of those men and remember that while all gave some, some gave all.

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Is There Any Interest In An Amateur Radio On Air Meet?

I have been re-kindling my interest in amateur radio. I bought a digital hot-spot recently and have been having fun with DMR. Anyway, I am just wondering if there would be any interest in doing an on air meet (net) sometime to discuss GPS and POIs?

Microsoft drops safe removal

Maybe others know about this but I just ran ran across this today.Microsoft drops safe removal of USB drives as the default option for Windows 10 1809. See https://betanews.com/2019/04/07/windows-10-safely-remove-usb... for info. I noticed this when removing my GPS from the computer.

Memorial Day

All gave some; some gave all. Let's remember our comrades in arms that made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us tomorrow on Memorial Day. I shall be remembering two of my classmates who gave their all in Vietnam; Ron Coates and Jerry Leak. Good guys and great friends. I came back, but they didn't. I shall always remember them. Rest in peace my friends.

Prevent a worm by updating Remote Desktop Services

I can't believe Microsoft's dedication to fix security holes on Windows XP. It's been out of support since 2012 (?) but they still released a patch for Windows XP.

Any POI factory users still running WinXP? If you are, get the patch.

R.I.P. Tim Conway

A truly unique and timeless talent. For those of us old enough to remember, that description fits all of the Carol Burnett show regulars, but Tim was something special. He will live on in the countless skits that will be replayed for generations. I can't help but smile every time I think about Tim saying "Eh Miss Wiggins" in that fake accent.

Favorite YouTube music videos

I tend to spend a fair amount of time listening to music on YouTube. Here's a very small sample of what I like and I thought it might be interesting to see what YouTube music other Factory-ites enjoy.
