Hi there.. Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. Just got my first GPS and I'm in love with it. I also hope to contribute some points.

One other thing I'd like to add is that I've done a lot of development with Drupal, so If you need any help, I can lend a hand.

Does anyone have any of the Arlantis GPS systems? I have a model 350 and it has a limited POI data base, I would like to get more POI's like gas stations and restaurants in the greater Harrisburg PA area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Atlantis has very limited support for their GPS systems.

I received a new Nuvi 360 for Christmas which I love but have noticed the POI's are not up-to-date, in fact one Target store showing has been closed for 5 years. I went on a couple websites but was shocked at the cost of the bundles, some totally $175. I am surprised that businesses do not supply this info for free since it is a way to get travelers in the door.

I have noticed on here that most POI's are for a specific area, is that the case or am I missing something. I need all the help I can get.

on another site a person was complaining that the unit did not show a certain chinese restaurant under asian food. the response was:
"Maybe that Chinese restaurant isn't really owned by an Asian, and Garmin is smart enough to know that"

I downloaded several POI sites onto my Nuvi 350 using the POI loader. After viewing the actual info, I'd like to delete several of the sites.
I found a file in the Garmin folder called poi.gpi, GPI File, 169KB, which looks like what I downloaded into the custom POI area. It doesn't look like I could selectively delete specific sites, but rather will have to delete all the files and then re-download only the sites I want, which I don't mind doing.

I just got the C530. I have been looking for the school zone and speed zones POI's. No idea how any of this works. So far I really like the 530. Can you change the voice on the 530???

Being a Newbie, I do not know the terms yet, somplease bear with me.

When I look in my Garmin C530, I find listings for many POI's. Like Best Buy or Home Depot. So, if I load a Home Depot POI file, will I get duplicate POI's?

Newbie here...

So, this may be another dumb question...

I was recently in Japan and my rental car had an Integrated GPS. I noticed that as I was driving along, there were many PIO icons on the display, like 7-Elevens, Gas Stations, etc.

This is a feature that I assumed was included with all automotive GPS's. I would LOVE it if I could enable my Garmin C530 to do this.

From what I have read on this site, so far, my understanding of PIO's is that you can only select them as a destination (Extras). I would really like to have them constantly displayed as icons. So, when I am traveling and I need a gas sation or restuarant, I can just look at my display to see if one is coming up.

does garmin use the same maps for the 500-300 series as it does for the nuvi series.

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. I am at the beginning of my journey on purchasing a Gps system. With so many ads out there, I was wondering if so one could point me in a direction that would not empty my pockets. Considering that this would be my first Gps for my vehicle. I did a little research on TomTom one and Garmin 360 but still not sure, thanks for the help...
