After I download all the POI's and store them on my hard drive, I open POI Loader 2.4.1.0 and start the transfer from my hard drive to the SD flash drive in my nuvi 350. After a few seconds the transfer is complete using the Express Mode. If I add another POI to the folder on my hard drive and try the transfer again, the POI Loader times out and nothing is transferred.

I foolishly applied the Garmin Dash Disk to my brand new Nissan Murano's dash. I decided that I hated it because the arm kept falling off. So I bought a Garmin bean bag, skid free device with the arm built in. It is awesome (On sale at Amazon for $27).

I would just like to say in my first post that this is a great site. I have had a lot of questions answered by all the knowledgable contributors.

I am just getting into my new Nuvi 660 and have some questions about integration with MapSource. I would like to map out a complete route in MapSource including multiple checkpoints and stop overs and transfer them to my 660. I will have to buy MapSource and don't know if it is worth the money, and which MapSource to to buy. Anyone have any experience with doing that.

Garmins Mapsource will let you make 64 custom waypoint symbols but does any one know how to transfer them to the unit

Could you PLEASE find a way to get a spell check in this.. I am a real bad speller and would love to at least get a link to check my spelling.. I am just to lasy to type my message in word,spell check it and then copy and paste.

i have a nuvi 660, i wonder if there's anyone out there who would sell me an sd card for the eastern seaboard of u.s. specially washington dc metro area, viriginia, delaware... i don't have access to a pc, i have a vintage mac, & worst, i'm totally computer illiterate.

For those of you who don't have GoogleEarth or any other means to see coordinates it is possible to see them with Google maps as well, only you have to use a little trick.

I hope someone cleverer than me has been having a similar problem and has been able to fix it.

My Nuvi 370 is paired with my Nokia 9300 communicator through Bluetooth and connects perfectly every time.

The only problem is that every time the Nuvi disconnects I find the volume setting on the phone has been set to 1/4 of it's range.

I thought it would be interesting to share ideas on mounting the GPS units in vehicles.
I have a Nuvi 670 and not wanting to damage or drill into the dash to mount it AND wanting to keep it out of the sun (Summers are +45 deg C in the shade!) I found a plastic jar which fitted snugly into the cup holders in the center console just below the dash.

Hi,

I'm using my new nuvi 660 and when I upload poi files I rename them, i.e "drive in theaters in US-Canada"
but in nuvi I see it as Drive -In theaters_V" (from here I don't know this drive in theaters for which country, city etc... etc.)

why don't I see the full name in nuvi?
what is this V ? (it's with almost every filename)

any suggestion ! comments !

OK...first post...here goes.

Got my nuvi 660 for father's day. Way cool. Found a good spot for it on the dash of my Tacoma. Not worried about sticking something to the dash, so, here goes. Looks nice. Easy reach access.

Does anyone know why the Bmp files don't show on the SP 2720 or 2730 the Bmp's are named the same as the file for example red-light-camera.csv red-light-camera.Bmp and are in the same folder when uploaded with the poi loader none of the bitmaps show on the screen for any of the Poi's

If I was a Nuvi Theif, I would break into cars and steal Nuvi's and then find the owners address on the registration or other paperwork in the car. This way I can drive to the house and sit in the driveway and unlock the security code and change it as you can do that if you know where the location is where the code was entered. Its most likely the users home.

I noticed on my Garmin 2720 that my custom poi icons appear only at 800ft or closer. I just wondered if that was standard and if there is any manual adjustment that can be made to make them appear at greater distances, like 1 mile or more?
