Okay, I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and I am using POI loader latest version. I have saved an icon in 16bit with the 255-0-255 colour setting using MS Paint. Problem is the icon shows the magenta colour when viewed on my Nuvi. Ideas?

how can i get strong singal for my gps, every time when i turn on my gps and type address or spell name. I need to wait most 5 mins some time nore than that. And than final they will show me lost singal ????

Does anyone know of a program, preferably free, that can easily convert a csv file to the an1 format native to DeLorme Street Atlas USA. I can import csv files but there is a very small limit on the number of lines it can contain.

I cannot seem to find my recent posts that I have made.
For example, I get on POI Factory, post a post.... come back later and want to find that post...

How does one do that?

I do a search... and get everything but my post.
I go to recent posts... and same thing.

A few sites on the web say YES, but I phoned them and its just another case of false advertising by telling us that its in stock when it really isn't. I wonder if by Christmas?

This might work:
1 - before disembarking, save your "current location";
2 - on the way back, navigate with the unit on foot to find your car.

Don't know about parking garages, a satellite signal is a must.
It seems the Nuvi 760 automatically marks your position when removed from the windshield mount... no need for step # 1.

How do I load POIs on my 2820?? using my iMac??

Will be offering the Nuvi 680 in about week. Can't wait to see what that price will be.

I have downloaded sond icons into a folders. Can you tell me how to load them into the GPS (C330) so they will appear on screen (red light camera icons)

Can someone tell me what the number 14 means when it shows up on the enter address icon on the main menu.
I'm pretty sure it appeared after I uploaded a wifi poi file. I checked the address book and there are no entries in there.. I also checked the number of wifi hotspots and there are way more than 14..

I'm stumped..

I think most people believe that the favorites icon distance appearance for custom poi's was defaulted to around 300ft to 800ft and could not be changed. However, on mine, while it has a default setting of 800ft, and the icons disappeared at anything over 800 ft, I can now customize it to anywhere from 300 ft to 5 miles. Had this gpsr over a year and just learning that.

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Xnman, you are the new fresh face at the POI Factory, you blew into town 2 and a half weeks ago and have really become a member of our knowledgeable helpful family. It is really great to have you in the forums.

It would be really great if one could, using MapSource, draw a perimeter around a certain area which would be then designated a 'no go' area for the GPS unit unless the address or destination desired is within that area.

In this manner users could set up avoidances for heavy traffic intersections/ turnpikes or high crime areas etc.

Can I download custom icons onto this model? Cause it's not working...

i thought i had the poi down pat but i dont. i cant get it to talk and and say redlight camera ahead and etc. i have the 3 files all named the same exept for the extension and it just beeps when i get to a camera. also another thing i cant get it the sub directories. i would like a folder tha says fuel, and within that folder another folder tha says esso, and another one flying j and so on.

This maybe already answered somewhere but I couldn't see it. Anyway, after you download a POI icon and transfer it to your GPS are you able to then check the map and see it? For example can I view the icon for a rest area that is at the other end of the country?

I am looking for Wal-Mart Supercenter Only POI.
What suggestions does anybody have?
I guess I could load all Wal-Marts and then delete
Non-Supercenter Locations ?
