Could someone send me a copy of there TTS file for my c530
This is the file that lets the c530 speak street names, which the c340 does.

Cool GPS website that I found

This site lets you convert coords and see a map of the location. If you see that it is off on the map you can click on the map and get the coords of where you clicked.

Update for Unread Posts
I've installed an update to the "Unread Posts" feature this evening.
The functionality is pretty much the the same, but the screen layout has changed to display the forum for each topic and show the topic's full title.

Creating custom poi points long/lat
Does anyone remember whar web site lets you type in an address and then it creates the way points or longitutde and latitude for you- Traveling to two different Super 8 Motels - 1- 135 Hotel Dr, Clarion PA 16214 - and 450 west 3rd St, Mifflinville PA 18631- My Nuvi 350- does not recognize addresses. I have the old version of Mapping- not the latest one

Never Tried This
I've never tried this, but if you don't want to put the POI's permanent in your GPS, couldn't you just load them on a SD card, and use from that, then just remove the card when finished with the POI's. This may negate using the POI loader. Just a thought. My cards are full of photos or I'd try it.

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Need some testing help
I received a C340 for Christmas and I am enoying it. I wanted an easier way to put in a bunch of addresses so I wrote a little online app to help me create POI files.

has anyone ever purchased or know of anyone that uses megagps.com - my company want's to buy 12 nuvi 350's and they say that they can fill the order and gave me a decent price - are they trustworthy or reliable?

I'm sure you all know screenname or POIfactory member by the name of Retiredtechnician. I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day, let alone week in helping me install the voice file to my garmin. I can't tell you guys how patient and courteous he was in dumbing down the process to me. I'm sure there're others who know exactly what I'm talking about here.

Free VPN for wi-fi hotspots
While looking for something else the other day, I came
across a free VPN software for protecting laptops at free wi-fi spots. It's available at www.anchorfree.com and the product is called HotSpot Shield. I mention this because of the free wi-fi hotspot files available on the oi-factory site. I did clear this post with Miss POI prior to posting.

$20 traffic receiver
My local TV news just showed a demo of a $20 traffic receiver/display that was interesting. Buy it for $20, monthly subscription is $10. Only available in 4 cities at this point. Interesting product and technology, though!

Add Additional Answer In POI FAQ's ??
The Q&A's do not tell a person they can view POI's from their SD card without loading them into their GPS.
I see several post of users wanting to delete files out of their GPS to make additional room for data. When they could just read from the card.
Just a thought. Maybe good, maybe not so good.

Just checking in
Just a note saying hello and yes I'm still alive! Been laid-off for a month but heading back to work soon. The upside to this has made me realize how expensive it is to heat with oil!

GPS, Digital Camera and Google Earth
I ran across a program, GPicSync, which will take a GPS track file and insert the latitude and longitude into your digital pictures based on the time stamp.
Once your pictures have the latitude and longitude embedded, the track and picture locations can be loaded onto Google Earth. Makes for a nice way to describe a trip to friends and family.
