No, you just have to download the Garmin Communicator plug-in from Garmin's website and install it on your computer.

Communitcator - Test

I couldn't get the test to recognize the communicator plug-in when I downloaded it using explorer ver 7.

I then downloaded communicator using the firefox browser and rebooted my computer. I returned to Garmin's communicator test and it worked fine.

Garmin support verified that they were having problems getting explorer ver 7 to recognize the plug-in.

Same here. And I'm finding I use it less and less...other than the Exchange server/outlook web access for work, I have very little use for IE.

I use it all the time and rarely have issues. Actually out webbased software at work, works much better in IE then any other browswer.
