I was looking for a case/cover for my Garmin 760 and i noticed an advertisement for a GPS sock.

I know that the Garmin Nuvifone is scheduled to be released next year with true GPS, not A-GPS. In the meantime, are there any other GPS cell phones right now that get GPS signals from the satellites rather than cell phone towers?

Just updated my Nuvi-260 to firmware 5.0 and noticed another update that was available called "GPS Chipset Type B."
Can someone please tell me what this is and whether you recommend the update.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have some voice files from the nuvi 750 & 760, dated 2007 with various months, some early 2007. I however do not know how to upload( attach ) binary files on this site! Thanks

For those of you who had downloaded my Atomic Test Sites poi http://www.poi-factory.com/node/16988 in the CSV format, you may be interested to know I have replaced it with a new version in GPX.

The GPX contains more information about each experiment. Sites with multiple tests are now combined into a single entry with details of each shot.

Good afternoon. I just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

I originally bought my GPS (Garmin Nuvi 260W) for work but find myself using it for everything. I joined the site a little over a week ago and have already created and uploaded 5 POI files and icons.

I've been reading the posts on this forum for the last 1-2 weeks and I just wanted to say that they are great! Thanks to everyone that's posted. Without this forum I'd never been able to add some POI's to my Nuvi 750. Also the problems with MapSource -- I've followed advice from someone and called Garmin and they are sending me a new CD Map disk since my 750 disn't come with one.

Does anyone know if there is a battery charger on the market, that will charge a spare Nuvi 880 battery or does a spare battery have to be charged, when it's in the Nuvi 880 itself?

Hi....just signed on...downloaded some files have garmin connected ..but...and I feel kind of silly asking but how do you get the fies onto the garmin..thought it would swync..like an iPod...are there directions somewhere?

Again exploring, I found this site which is a blog covering the spectrum of GPS and GPSr. It is also a RSS feed, and the Amazon "Kindle" has it available as a subscription. Not having a Kindle readermachine, I am subscribing to the RSS feed on My Yahoo home page.

Thought some of you might find it interesting, so check it out.
