Most of the poi factory posts are naturally directed to motoring and new technology. I am sure that I am not favorably impressed with some of these. Toyota, for example, is developing a brake system that will stop your car at stop signs if you don't.
This is not for me; I want to choose when and where I stop.
It doesn't even sound safe to me. I sure hope that one can override the decision to stop.

New Technology
They're coming out with new automotive technology all the time, but it is not always ready for prime time.
I would think a car that would stop at stop signs if the driver didn't notice it would be a good thing, but it would depend on how well it works. Like you said there may be the odd case where you don't want to stop at the sign for whatever emergency reason, a runaway semi on your tail or something. Hopefully this technology would be defeatable at the drivers option.
I love my GPS. I don't think I'd ever want to go back to using paper maps completely.
What about the Lexus that parallel parks itself? From the reviews I've read, it's probably easier to just do it yourself.
