New Nuvi (replaced TomTom)
New Nuvi
To make a long story short - my TomTom just stopped working. My wife thinks it was fried in the heat in the car. Could be. So I replaced it with a Nuvi 255w. Nice unit not as sturdy as the TomTom but nice. First use was to drive to work 41 miles and see if it showed me any new routes.

Twelve GPS units at once!
Don't know if this has already been posted. I hadn't come across this video here, but it is funny.
Maybe not the entire video though. You get the idea after a minute.

Been to Google lately and used the maps?
This is a little off topic, but a lot of us seem to like to have the latest maps and I thought that some of you would enjoy it.

New Garmin 1350
Just bought one. On my Nuvi 350 my SD card has a subdirectory Garmin\poi to put all the poi's I've downloaded here.
On my new Nuvi 1350, what's the directory structure to put poi's on my micro SD card?
I noted that the nuvi 1350 doesn't use the words "Custom POI's." It seems to use the word "Extras." I think that's where the poi's should show up when loaded.
Thanks for your help.

This week we are recognizing Charlesd45.
When January rolls around I am not going to have to do a lot of thinking about one of our Contributor of the year recipients, this guy already has it in the bag and we are not even halfway through the year yet.
You amaze me on a daily basis, we love having such happy helpful people around.

Another Reason To Wear Motorcycle Helmet.
I know there are a few of us motorcycle riders that have GPS so I thought I would share what I was told today by an lawyer and part time Judge for traffic volations. In the Phoenix area he said any PHOTO radar pictures of people with helmet and face shield that cant' be identified can't be prosocuted.

For what kinds of POIs do you use alerts
Hi,
Just getting started with adding POIs to my Garmin 765. I've already added the Rest Areas and I really like the idea of proximity alerts for things like that, but I'm curious about what kinds of POIs people are using proximity alerts for? Or, for that matter, when you might use the alert based on speed, as the option in POILoader allows you to configure.

New Costco Location
One about 6 months old in southern Maryland. Just passed by it yesterday off route 301.
The coordinates are:
N 38 degrees 40.235 min
W 76 degrees 52.387 min
It doesn't exist in the databases I have for Costco. It includes a gas station.
Hope this helps.
Fred

New Purchase
Just bought a Garmin 1350 at Costco for $129.99 (free shipping). That's a heck of a lot cheaper than what I paid $350 + shipping for my 3 year old Nuvi 350.
Hope this one works out as well, but if it doesn't, I very much like Costco's return policy.
Anything I need to on the look for???

GPS for Bus Drivers
I currently have a NUVI-660, which is a great unit, and I bought a NUVI-765t, which is not so great, it stays lost more then I do. What id like to know from all you GPS pros is what is the best GPS for Charter bus drivers. It has to work well in large cities and hopefully keep me off restricted streets and away from low bridges.
