Alerts on Garmin Nuvi 3790 not working

Do I have to download the icon and alert files separately or are they included in the POI packages? I am new to this and when I try to enable the alerts on my GPS, it doesn't allow it. I am wondering if I am missing something. Anyone have ideas/help?

And

And yes, normally the mp3 or wav sound file and the bmp icon file would need to be downloaded separately.
