Collision Avoidance Systems

A month ago, I bought a new 2022 GMC pickup equipped with what GM calls a "collision avoidance system" It uses an array of sensors to detect objects in the road ahead and automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision.

Chrome users should update their browser

There is an urgent-need update for the Google Chrome browser to patch a flaw that is reportedly "being exploited in the wild." They don't say exactly what the problem is here, but normally this means that if you use an unpatched version of Chrome and are unlucky enough to click a link to a compromised website, you may be the victim of a malware or ransomware attack or have personal information you

I don't agree with the checkout clerk

I have some friends who refuse to use self-checkout, as I think they believe this is a benefit of going to a bricks and mortar store.

Anyway this AM I was at the market because I have to get on-call at 0800 EDT.

Part of my purchase was two bags of 7.75 oz Lays potato chips as we are trying to eat healthy.

AIS Spoofing

I'm disappointed that I didn't see this coming.

parking and the world keeps getting more modern

It's been father and son week so I took my son to a museum downtown and parked in a garage.

The app save me $10, parked for $8 instead of $18.

But interestingly, the app now has a button to open the gate hahahahahahaha

Confusing.

toll bypass

It used to be possible to go from Phila to B'More, and back, no tolls.

The key was a Hatem Bridge annual pass for $10.

I actually only did it once, even though we bought that $10 pass.

It's become rare to be able to bypass tolls but I did it yesterday with my son, since wife is away lol

Went from north Jersey back to PA via Rt. 1, then the Trenton Makes bridge, to I-295 to I95.

anyone use a password manager?

Because our work uses LastPass, we got an offer to use it at home for free (separate family account).

Well, I just discovered it's expired!

Kind of scary, I don't think I have to pay $4/mo for my passwords, cuz that would not make sense. I can still log in but it says expired.

I'll find out what's going on tomorrow.

What governs login frequency?

Does anyone know what governs the need to login? I can go for several days of repeatedly visiting the forums without.a need to login, then suddenly I notice I’m logged out. For example this happened yesterday, I was logged in when I opened the forum link in the morning, and a few hours later when I again checked the forums, I noticed I was logged out and had to go through the login process.
