Windows 11 Version 24H2 Update

My Windows 11 desktop computer just downloaded and installed the Windows Version 24H2 update. The process took about 45 minutes and my computer restarted several times during the update.

You can probably pause updates

In Windows 10 you can pauses updates for 7 weeks using the update settings within Windows 10. With Win 11 that same option may be present but if not there are very good 3rd [arty options to delay the updates and place that action under your control. Withthe recent track record of Win 11 updates I would personally delay things unless there is a specifc need. One of the best utilities out there, done by Steve Gibson who has been around for many years is InControl. Available at https://www.grc.com/incontrol.htm

Good point. I think the latest release for Win 11 is 24H2 (10.0.26100.2033) which was released on October 8, 2024.

No Insider Program

No Insider Program. I just did a check to see Windows had an update and found the major 24H2 update.

I mistyped 25H2 update in a couple of places which is in error. It should read 24H2 update.

I always wait to update

I always wait to update especially when there is nothing I need. I usually install the fall update in January or February.

I finally got the 24H2 upgrade on one of my PCs

HP Laptop 14 with a 10th gen i5.

No issues since that I see.

My 9th gen i9 desktop has still not received the upgrade.

No, not in the insider program but I checked my Windows update history and I must have mistyped the update. My post should have read "Windows 11, version 24H2" update. My apology for the confusion.
