WooHoo, new NA map, 2025.20

The fastest update yet,less than 20 min. Garmin Express ver 7.18.4, map NA 2025,20 DS65 updated on a Windows 7 desktop.
Have not yet taken it out for a spin to see what's new, probably little but I hope it fixed the random "wackie" speed limits that the previous map all of a sudden generated. School zones miles from a school, random 60/30 kph for no reason.

Less time to load tells me less to update

About 30 min as well on 2558. Dezl 770 was about 40 min. Shall see what the update has that's new.

Nice; I will have to see if the install time is less than the estimate for me too. I have 26 units to update this time around, two of which typically take 3 hours each to install every map update.

Garmin says it can't install a 7.8 gig update on a 32 gig card because there's no room. Really?

Nüvi 55LM Map Region

I just installed the update on my nüvi 55LM and it took about 5-7 minutes to do so. However, the nüvi 55LM is only supposed to have the lower 49 states map region on it but Garmin Express installed the full North America map on mine.

Woohoo 2

Woww,checked for new updates on my Drivesmart 51 yesterday and saw that a new map update had arrived. Just about fell out of my bed and had a heart attack.

Internal storage on my DS55 is 16GB and GE installs nothing on the external memory card. All I have on the microsd are the Speed and Redlight camera POI's.

There must have been a lot

There must have been a lot of people downloading. I spent a half hour failing to update my units because of server overload.

They did all update finally, and very quickly too.

Ended up doing our 2 and installing GE on neighbors laptop and updating her new Garmin,too

Afterward installed a few POI’s on hers, too.

None installed any faster than before, that I could tell.

Map Update Issues on my older devices

I have a nüvi 750 and a 760 that are in need of a map update. When I try to do them, it says that the card is incompatible, which makes no sense as to why that would be since it meets all the requirements. When I click on "try again" it says the card is compatible and good to go. However, the update process freezes, no matter what I do. It will make some progress when downloading, either less than 1% or up to 17%, and then it will just stop and do nothing. I have tried restarting my Mac, using a different Mac, using a different Garmin cable, force quitting and reopening Garmin Express, and nothing is working. Any suggestions as to what I should do? For reference, my newer devices update just fine without any issues.

Download map to the computer

Then, try installing with MapInstall. That's what I had to do.

It seems Garmin is trying to push out the older models. I have a 3790T.

I dusted off an old Windows laptop and that seems to work for updating those units I was having issues with on Mac(s) via Express

Update to 2024.20 a week or so ago when it said it was outdated. Now 2025.20 is showing available.
