Customized Speed Camera POIs ??
Hi everyone...
Newbie here. I did subscribe and download Speed Camera POIs for my GPS already
I have an old Garmin Nuvi 350, like 5 yrs old at least.
Time to upgrade.....
My problem....
Chicago, IL has unique Speed Camera zones..

Speed cameras at parks will enforce a daily 30-mph speed limit from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

test two threads
I am testing to see if I can create two threads which look the same - which someone just recently did.
As I recall, I click "Preview" to check what the post looks like and then, if satisfied, click "Submit"
My feeling is that when I click "Submit" I will get the screen that would let me edit that thread but I would not be able to create another thread.

BP Gas Stations POI
Would love to see BP Gas station POI file updated more often. Is there a way one could contribute in updating this file? I have searched around BP's website and even emailed them to obtain location database without any luck. The file has been updated last on February 2013 and many gas stations have closed/moved/opened since then, not to mention it was not full list of stations to begin with.

New Member-Ohio
Hey everyone! Great site and thanks for having me. I own a Nuvi 3790 and have had it now for about 1 1/2 years. I just picked up a Kenwood DNX6190hd receiver with the garmin built in because I travel so much and like the hands free feature.

Anybody asked Google Earth to correct an error?
A cousin is moving to a new address. Tried to find it on Google Earth. It shows the road but with incorrect spelling so nobody could search and find the location.
Garmin would not be able to find it either, except by lat/long.

Voice Selection
Have any of you experienced the voice you've used for a very long time (years) being changed after a weekly update of POI's??? No other updates were made.
I just had that happen with a voice change from Jill to a non-TTS voice. I just reset it but it's never happened before to me.

Garmin express error
Just got a Garmin nüvi® 2557LMT
Went to Garmin site Registered it.
Then started the Garmin express v2.2.21 several different ways and times. Gets about ½ way through and gets the following error message----- Service ‘Garmin Core Update Service’(Garmin Core Update Service) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.

Suggestions Please!
What features are needed by POI factory users?
I am a one man company building a new GPS app for iOS and want to include the ability to import and export both .csv and .gpx files and hopefully with the permission of the administrator, provide a direct link to POI Factory letting the user store their login information on the phone.

Can POI files be removed from Garmin devices?
Newbie as of a few hours ago. I have a Garmin 760 and if I download and install a POI file then decide I do not need it for some reason can it be removed from the 760? Thanks.

Looks like Microsoft getting licensing to use Nokia patents and "mapping know-how"... Nokia owns and operates separately Navteq... one of the major suppliers of map data to Garmin and a host of other GPSr hardware and app suppliers...

The POI essentials
What POI files do you think are essential for almost any traveler?
The only ones I have right now in addition to safety cameras is the rest areas and travel plazas. I feel that anything else (restaurants, gas, etc) are generally pretty well covered in the garmin map.
Anything else you guys think almost EVERYONE should have?
