is GPS "Critical Infrastucture?"

Quote:

The December meeting of the PNT Advisory Board meeting brought forth important developments and proposals for the protection of GPS as part of the U.S. critical national infrastructure.

You can’t just go down the road eating a hamburger.

Apparently, some LEO in Georgia thinks it's now illegal for you go down the road eating a hamburger these days. http://is.gd/18nvhU

Very cool site

Just happened upon the site by accident when I was doing some research. Just wanted to let the people in charge know I thought it was awesome.

The planned addition of a “Leap Second” this June may disrupt the Internet and satellite navigation systems.

Warning: Serious tech content.

Interesting read for those who follow the aspects of global time.

New user - question (delete existing files in the GPS folder?)

Just signed up here and want to be sure I have this right -- when I download the latest safety/cam file(s)do I need to delete the existing files in the GPS folder or can I just leave those in?

Thanks

Hmm, no COW this week. Does that make me a COY COW?

Congratulations CFP

I was not originally in favor of this, primarily because of how the four teams would be selected. However, I have to admit that it turned out well, even if I personally might have chosen another team for the fourth spot instead of Ohio State.

Congratulations to both Oregon and Ohio State for their impressive victories. As a neutral in this contest, here's to an exciting championship game!

All hands on deck!

OK folks, the holiday gifts have been unwrapped and tried out, especially now that we're through New Years as well. The GPS newbies (either new to GPS units or with a newer unit with more features than their ancient GPS) are back with their annual series of requests for help, etc. So if you're free, read and reply to help those with a new device.

Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – January 2015

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

What Custom POIs Do You Use?

As posted above, I am just wondering what Custom POIs people here use and why? I have been a member here for some time now and I find that I have weaned myself back to fewer and fewer as time goes on. I find that restaurants and gas stations are often already in my GPS mapping software.
