This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

Has anyone used their GPS to visit prize winning decorations around your town? I had entered the addresses. We drove all over with the Trip Log on SHOW, so we could see what streets we had covered. We have visited 3 "Festival of Lights" in our region. It was interesting to see our track along the cart paths of the golf courses that hosted the attractions.
We were so successful in the Tampa location that I’m posting a new one for those who enjoyed deciphering the last one.
Let me do a little setup to explain how I came about this new location.
A couple friends of ours cruising on their motor home left the Tampa bay area in late October headed for California and meandering through various states.
Has this died out or am I wrong? I rarely see that people (in the metropolitan Seattle area) flash their lights to warn others that the police are around.
Share to let us know whether you do this or something else. This is not limted to only those people in the Seattle area. Thanks. I am curious to see your comments.
Ever since moving to Tampa in 1984 we noticed this strange building about a mile from home, why do I call it strange?
This year I am going to let the community pick someone for this award. I will also pick a second person based on my behind the scenes insight as moderator.
JM has programmed a voting system for us. We are opening the voting booth for about three weeks starting December 13th, and voting will end at midnight December 31st (Eastern Time).
Just a quick note of thanks to all involved for this website and the files available.
There's a lot of work here and I for one appreciate it.
I mainly use the Trucker related files, but I've recommended this site to dozens of other people, and they're all as amazed as I am.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas to everyone.
I am just wondering if anybody here uses GPS for their work? Obviously, anybody who drives a vehicle has the potential to use a vehicle navigator, but I am thinking beyond that. For example, is there anybody here that is involved in GIS or surveying? I have seen work crews in my area using professional GPS units and I have thought that it might be interesting to learn a bit more about that.
I don't follow cameras much, but this might be of interest to some GPS enthusiasts!
This week we are recognizing JFCTexas.
This member has been on a roll this week with 5 new projects and 4 updated ones;)
Thanks for all these cool new files.

That would be a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport at $2,580,000.00.
Well from the Road Test in the January 2011 Motor Trend I quote:
"There's no navigation in the $2.6 million Super Sport, not even an option. Bugatti flacks admitted that adding a nav system worthy of the Veyron would be too expensive for such a low volume vehicle, and recommend Garmin or TomTom units. Seriously? Yup."
It looks like this is giving the finger to the pedestrians, but I have to wonder if the traffic department is giving the finger to the motorists. Who knows.
I am looking to see if a POI File is available my Garmin GPS

Hi does anybody have a complimentary 10% discount code to share or give away, that is given for the purchase of select accessories upon registering your GPS device?
Never hurts to ask, right?
This was sent to me by a friend. Didn't want to post it in the joke thread. It just kind of fit with the season.
Happy Holiday to all.
Because of Love
I am very grateful to all of the people that make and keep up the poi files, but I wish that when some one writes to you and says that a location is incorrect and gives you the necessary information to correct the poi file that you not ignore it,and if don't want to correct the file or files turn it over to some one who will.I have sent two files to be corrected and given plenty of time to see the
Well I took the plunge and bought my first gps last week, a Garmin Nuvi 855 from Amazon for $119. My keen since of direction has failed me a couple of times this year, so it was time. Wow! All I can say is I had no idea what all these things can do, finding this site and its resources and the ability to do the custom poi is great.
