Update my car DVD for $149 or not

I have a 2006 Odyssey and I received a letter asking if I wanted to buy the GPS DVD update for $149. The car navi is not as easy to use as my handheld but I know I always have it in that car if I do need it. Any pros and cons would be helpful. Thanks.

Bell System Technical Journal Archives

For the techies in the group.

Bell Labs was the birthplace of many technologies and scientific discoveries that virtually define our understanding of the modern world and The Bell System Technical Journal (BSTJ) was the record of those achievements.

The entire archives of the BSTJ were placed online by Alcatel-Lucent and can now be accessed here.

Will you use your GPS more now, with higher gas prices for a "cheaper" route?

I think I will start using a little more my Garmin when driving locally and running errands. So far I just used it when making long trips or driving to unfamiliar areas. I have the feature for making routes so I will start planning a little more before leaving the house to make sure I'm using the best shorter or faster route depending on the destination.

Suggestion: Forum Search Enhancement

Hi Miss Poi,

I'm wondering if we could get an enhancement of the search function for sites's forums, etc. Right now, the search results seem pretty random.
I'd like to be able to sort the results by date and/or relevance, for example (mostly by date.)

You get what you pay for (magical hard disk)

A 500GB external hard drive purchased in China for an unbelievably low price doesn't work as it is supposed to. I LOL when I saw the internal parts.

Subject line

I am curious as to why you need to include a new subject title for each post here at the factory. If you are following along on a particular thread about the same subject why the need to add a new subject for each post?

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas House approved a bill that would allow the speed limit on some highways to be raised to 85 mph, which would be the highest in the nation.

AW_Root_Beer.csv problem?

Hey probably don't know what I'm doing, but here's what I found and I don't know what to do to fix it.

I downloaded this file and wondered why it didn't work.

Then I looked at the file and it looks a mess compared to other files I compared it to.

I hope someone has an older version of the file sitting around.

What a bunch of wimps my countrymen have become :(

If you are dumb enough to place the Progressive insurance company MyRate or Snapshot Discount http://tinyurl.com/4qqbzu9 (they can't make up their mind what to call it) driving monitoring system tracking device in your car to get a rate reduction, you will deserve every bad thing that happens to you as a result of its instillation. smile

IPad/IPod/IPhone Radio Apps.

For those of you who have either an IPod / IPad or IPhone these apps may have some interest to you. Once loaded you can decode Morse Code or We-Fax (weather fax) various digital modes of communication, just by holding your device close to the speaker of a shortwave, tuned to the proper frequency............it's really rather easy and pretty cool !

Restaurant POIs that are not open to the public

You arrive to an area that you've never been before so you punch in restaurants into your GPS and there are some coffee-shops or fast-food places that you want to visit. You select them and start following your GPS and arrive at... a local college that has a Starbucks in one of their food courts (and it's spring break and it's shuttered).

Does anyone have info on Wi-FI antennas?

Watch Eagles Hatch !

Watch a live webcam of Mom and Pop eagle tending to their eggs in their nest in Decorah, Iowa. First hatch is due today. Just very neat watching Mother Nature.

Enjoy !
