We only have 9 days for our roadtrip from Phoenix, AZ to Yellowstone. We're leaving July 18 and have to be back by the 26th. This is our first ever roadtrip and we have 3 kids ages 13, 11 and 3 and we're taking our Sienna minivan (that means we need to stop in hotels to sleep).
When I downloaded "Rest Areas - Combined" I got all 2150 locations. How can I delete the ones I do not want before downloading to my Garmin? Or once downloaded, how can I erase specific ones from a Garmin 1390T?
This week we are recognizing T923347 as our star of the week.
You scoot through the forums in your cute little car helping where you can.
Thank you so much for all that you do for our community.
This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.
MaryAnn Melby AKA Miss POI
I purchased the red light alerts and wish to use the use the Emily mp3. I have communicator and POI loader, I am able to load the POI files but not the mp3's (although I can drag it over into the mp3 section). Any suggestions on getting Emily to speak the alerts? Thanks
The reality is that most drivers move along at what they consider to be a safe speed for the conditions regardless of the posted limit. To minimize accidents, the limit should therefore be the speed at which 85 percent of the drivers are moving.
In 2006, the Michigan legislature passed a law requiring speed limits to be set based on such traffic studies.
Wishing all our southern neighbors a very happy and safe holiday.
I just do!
Happy Birthday America!!!!!
Taking my daughters up to Norfolk/Virginia Beach area next week. Any POI recommendations? Are there any good POIs that might show proported haunted sites in that area?
I am new to this site and to GPS. I recently bought a Gramin nuvi 205 and used it getting to/from Warren Pa. It worked very well, though it didn't take me the way I would have necessarily gone.
Let me start by saying that I am in Montreal, Quebec.
And no, I'm not discussing the basic prompting that the navigator does (which is set to English), but rather the TTS street names . . .
To all my fellow canuks, happy Canada day
This week we are recognizing Simon Ferdman, Wrbelt, and Kioolt.
I can always tell when Summer hits because you guys and gals go into hyper drive sending in files that you think will be useful to others for their summer vacations.
After 1 year and 44 weeks on this site, I have finally been greeted by the message:
"Over the past 26 weeks, you have qualifying activity in 26 week(s)"
Have GPS voices become the new 'other woman' in American relationships?

I was trying to retrieve a previous post of mine so I went to "recent post" under my account and then selected the tab "My recent posts". The result is a list of topics I have looked at and maybe participated some times ago but they are sorted by the most recent update by anybody so it makes it difficult to locate my own posts.
this is a simple way to down grade your firmware version. in the event you have trouble with the new version, i conducted the experiment on nuvi>255>1490T several times whit no issue's.( 1 create a folder on your computer) name the folder what ever you want ( 2 connect your nuvi to your PC ) ( 3 go to your garmin folder look for a file call XML COPY AND PASTE ONLY,to your new folder.
"Googling" for a comparison between Navteq and Teleatlas map accuracy and completeness seems not to yield much in the way of any recent professional reviews. I am finding mostly blog/forum posts from 2007 and before.
