Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – March 2018

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Amazon Now Taking Pictures OF Delivered Items

Tonight I saw on ABC news about Amazon delivery (AMZL) taking pictures of delivered packages. I have seen the pictures of the package on my front porch on my last two deliveries from Amazon. I think this is a great idea.

Microsoft Patch day brings bug warnings, another Office CtR, and the return of KB 2952664

This month’s fourth-Tuesday patches includes a bevy of bug notices and a warning to uninstall old Previews, the fourth “Monthly Channel” update this month for Office 365, and our old snooping friend KB 2952664.

Dobs108 has been with us for over 8 years and helps keep me update on RLC cameras in his area!

Muell9k has been with us for 9 and half and we’re so impressed with the recovery he’s made after his stroke two years ago!

Microsoft is distributing security patches through insecure HTTP links

Stefan Kanthak, reporting on the Bugtraq mailing list, shows how Microsoft’s own security patch download links are based on HTTP, not HTTPS.

The Microsoft Update Catalog uses insecure HTTP links – not HTTPS links – on the download buttons, so patches you download from the Update Catalog are subject to all of the security problems that dog HTTP links, including man-in-the-middle attacks.

Brother And Sister

Just found this story it's long but good

A Brother and A Sister

Let me tell you another story. When I came home from school one day, I said to Mom, “Mom will you tell mea story? Tell me a story about God because I’m always searching for God.” So she told me this story that she heard when she was a small child. A brother and a sister, Harpreet and Simran.

Computer Rebuilder Sentenced to Prison for Dell Restore CDs

Eric Lundgren, a recycling entrepreneur, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for duplicating Dell Restore CDs, which contain Microsoft software. All he wanted to do was extend the life of old computers.

Any of us who want to make a clean install of Windows on our old Dell computer without the original Dell Restore CD are taking the same risk.

Microsoft releases snooping patches for Windows 7 and 8

New patches became available as "Recommended" in Windows Update for Windows 7 and 8. They appear to be associated with snooping by MS similar to Windows 10 snooping. See Woody on Windows:
