Updating is kind of your choice, depends on your usage, if your traveling a lot i would say yes, if you use it for local use then personally no, I am thinking of maybe every couple of years is fine for local use, you dont know what they did on the update or even if they updated your area, to me it is kinda like a shot in the dark.
