Garmin talk

Over the past day or so I've been loading a few new favorites to my nuvi 750 from my TOPO map. Anyway I uploaded a few that I don't want anymore. So I manually delete them, but when I power off and back on they are there AGAIN! Any ideas?.....Drew

Newly acquired nuvi 200. Discovered that I can tap the vehicle, and add a waypoint (favorite) and that the coordinates of that favorite come up on the display when setting it up initially. I can't figure out how to go back and find out what those coordinates are once I set and name the waypoint. Can someone tell me how to reveal that info? Thanks list

Am I only able to save one topic in the custom section?

I just purchased a Nuvi 660 and loaded some of the POI's to it from here. Do the icon automatically load as well? For example, if I loaded the Target stores file to the Nuvi. Will I see the Target logo. Please help. Newbie.

Rumor is the next generation iPhone will have GPS. That and google maps on wireless 3G internet will hurt Garmin sales. Too bad as I love the company and their products, but with GPS in a second generation iPhone I am not sure my Nuvi will travel with me anymore...

I've loved using the dashboard disk that came with my nuvi 750, however the surface that I mounted it to is slightly curved, so it doesn't stick very well, and with the heat it slowly came unstuck, until now when it won't stick at all.

My wife and I have identical GPS systems - both C330's.

Can I put the update on both or do I have to buy two updates?

Garmin has the new 255 on its web site (for a while) and also the 205, but has links for a 2x5 series. In England and Australia I can find some stuff on the 265 and 275. Though not a full comparison (eg the England site says the 275 has Europe City Navigator, but does not say anything about US, as in the 270). It also appears that the 2x5 series speaks street names.

I've searched forums...could not find anything on this, but is there a way or option to sort your favorites.
I am not concerned with the POI's I have, but merely favorites.

Near as I can tell, it is currently sorting my favorites by those closest to me at my current location. I think I would prefer them personally, as alphabetical.

Suggestions, tips, etc. Thanks gang!

Got the new Nuvi750 unit.
Downloaded the Walmart/Superwalmat locations successfully.

USed POI Loader, used Manual mode. However, one question I have is: When asked for the distance and speed settings, what are some recommended settings for these?

Does it or should it vary by the type of POI?
What should I use for, say...a walmart notification alert....1500 ft, 1000 ft?

I bought the updated 2009 map and all is well. Things look a little different but I can't quite remember how they compare with the 2008 City Navigator.

My questions:

Besides new roads and POIs, what is new about the maps?

Are the maps using different renderings, colors, or text?

Do maps draw faster, or have other improvements?

Fist I would like to thank everyone that helped with my problem,POI Loader 2.5.2 not working. I did figure out the problem for anyone else not being able to load POI's using version 2.5.2. You have to delete any older versions of POI Loader that is on you computer. Once you do that and then download POI Loader 2.5.2 you will be able to load POI's

I've just loaded the 2M Repeater USA list into my Nuvi via POI Loader.

I ran into an issue where the software could not "find" my device. Strange because the Garmin updater had no problem at all. I simply created a folder called POI on the SD card and loaded them there.

I think I read in a post here that if you name a file with either a number or a @ with a number (I don't remember which) you will get a speed alert if you are exceeding the speed of the number. Would the same hold true naming a folder? See examples below...

Ok, rookie question. I made custom POIs for all my credit union branches and atms. I created a file in my POI file and titled it "City Credit Union". In it I created 2 files one for branch locations and another for atms and saved them as a .csv. I ran the POI loader and it won't load it on to my Nuvi 200w. What did I do wrong??
