Once I already have the POI's in the unit (Garmin 7200), is there a way to set the alert setting per poi? Say truck stops 3miles, Rest Areas 2miles, without have to go back and set them in poi loader?

Not that I know of, but why would you want to? Much easier to do it as loading. Since you have to reload all custom POIs each time and the exisitng records are deleted when you "load" again, it is easy to do in the loader program.

If you want that level of control, you're probably going to have to switch to gpx format. Otherwise, see:

why would you want to?
Purely to avoid having to repeat the exercise in the future?
(I have 25000+ alerts loaded - the vast bulk of these being the UK Speed & Redlight cameras. They use a variety of different settings and are revised on a monthly basis.)
