Memory capacity

I've been using my nuvi 660 for only a few months now. I have downloaded some POI's and saved many gps coordinate locations to my "favorites". I can't find any info about how much built in memory my unit has. If I select an additional file to download that exceeds my units memory will it partially download, not download at all, or erase some of my current data? I have a 2mb chip inserted, but it is mostly filled with photos. Thanks

You can check it on your PC

When you hook your Nuvi to your Computer it is a drive.. Just check the capacity of that drive. You can also get rid of the languages and the help in different languages..that gets rid of a lot..also you can move off the vehicles you dont use..

memory

I cannot tell you how much internal memory you have but I found out that my garmin 680 is able to use the new high capacity san disks, so today I added a 8gig card and it works fine. Best buy and circuit city sell it for 59 dollars.

Duh, I should have known

Duh, I should have known that. Thanks!

660 Internal Memory

My 660 has 2GB of internal memory, total. About 1.4GB is used by the operating system, map files, icons, vehicles, voice files, etc. Therefore, mine has about 600MB of free space.

As has already been mentioned, you can add an SD card for things like mp3s, POIs, etc. I installed a SanDisk 4GB HDSC card specifically for my mp3s. Right now, I have only loaded 243 songs which takes up about 1GB. I still have 3GB free space.

I just need to take the time to load more songs.
