Is it possible to overlay a city's cycle path system on the existing map of a Nuvi?
To do this, you would need to create your own (transparent) map.
The basic idea, would be to a take a scanned paper map, or a screen print from Google Earth etc and 'trace' over the cycle path, using one of several, map production programs.
Personally, I recommend MAPMAN
http://www.mapman.org.uk, as the easiest starting point (though it maybe has fewer features than its competitors).
The o/p from the map program is a ".mp" file representing the path as a series of discrete points. This is then converted to Garmin format, using http://cgpsmapper.com
The 'red' roads on these two maps illustrate the sort of effect you can get.
