I have recently purchased my first GPS, it's a Nuvi 760 and started downloading some POI files. For example, I downloaded the Costco store list and used the POI loader to load it to my Garmin. When I access the factory pre-loaded Costco list I found that a new one by my house was missing. I checked the list that I downloaded from this site and the new store is on it with the word "Costco" in the description field. My question is first how do I access the downloads I have made? and how come the new Costco doesn't show up in my list when I use spell name function?
Thanks
.
The Custom POIs that you load are kept in a separate data location on your GPS unit from the built in POIs.
If you go to Where to? > Extras > Custom POIs, you should see them.
The Spell Name
The Spell Name function, I believe, only works with the factory installed POIs that come with your mapping software. It could be the Costco is fairly new (3-4 years old) and has not been included in factory installed list.
To view the Custom POIs that you loaded with POI Loader go to
"Where to>Extras>Custom POIs"
