Garmin talk

Halfway through 2018 and still no word about any new automotive units. I think we're still at the 51/61. Are we just going to skip a year? I thought someone said at CES that we were looking at 3-6 months?

I am trying to get a new screen for my Garmin fleet 660.
Unfortunately my screen is cracked and I'm hoping someone can tell me where I can get a new screen for it or a old 660 with a screen that's ok.

I went into a small local computer store after ordering the GPS above. While I was in the store, I discovered they had a DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S on a shelf. It didn't have a price so I asked. The guy said 143.99 and I bought it. I've canceled the other order.

Now, the questions (Yes I've looked around and didn't find anything)

Computer system will be an Apple MacBook, OS level is 10.4+

I installed a BC-30 backup camera last week and was surprised when it popped up and said only works in Landscape and asked for OK or Cancel. Cancel went back to maps and OK switched my 2689 to landscape but did not switched back when I put the truck in forward. I have gotten to like running my GPS in portrait, the map of where I'm going shows more real estate.

Recently received a Dash Cam 55 and was wondering if it’s possible to load the Red Light Camera files into it?

It has the Garmin Red Light database already installed but would much rather have the ones from the POI factory.

Is there a web site which list the latest firmware version for certain GPS (Garmin Drive 51)? Just trying to find a more convenient way to see if there is a new update for my gps firmware beside connecting my GPS to the PC and check it once in a while.

I was checking my Garmin for my upcoming trip I left the computer to do another chore. When I returned it was upgrading the firmware. Had I been there I would have definitely said no. So I took the trip.

When travelling, some icons appear on my GPS. Some of them are obvious, but I don’t know what others represent.

Is-there a description of these symbols somewhere?

After deleting the last extra few pictures I had left there, and two vehicles, after loading POI's I'm down to 33Mb in space left on the 660 internal drive...
music and maps are on SD memory card.

I've already deleted everything I can off Garmin Drive: pictures and MP3, down to one splash picture, one voice, one vehicle, and have deleted all other Help files except English....

I lost all my POI files (CSV and GPX) on my computer.

The POI's are on my Garmin. How would I transfer the POI files from my Garmin back to my computer?

I purchased this device because it references trucking applications right out of the box. Am I missing something? Did I get bit? WHat is up with this? It's a good road unit in my pick up, but I plan on moving it into my Freightliner when it is delivered. Garmin site also says it's "Discontinued" any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm considering a new 2018 Honda Accord Touring with navigation and a 2019 Honda Odyssey Touring with navigation.

For (obviously) many years I have stuck with the nüvi 760 specifically because it plays .mp3 and .aud files. I also listen to the navigation instructions (as well as the audio files) through the vehicle's stereo system via the "line out" jack on the nuvi. Sadly, my device(s) are giving me all kinds of problems.

Don't know if this has been reported or not. New update on July 10, 2018 to update the DriveLuxe 51 to version 4.00.

I've been looking at the Garmin Driveluxe series for some time now. Not willing to pay the $349 price, I've been waiting for refurbs to hit the market. It appears I waited too long since refurbs are non existent and even new units are very hard to find.

I bought this vent mount for a Garmin 2689 (see https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SV2LZW6/ref=oh_aui_deta...). It woulds very well. Reviews at Amazon say it is hard to clip onto the vent but once you get the hang of it it isn't an issue.
