I have a Garmin 765T and love it. I did purchase the MSN traffic receiver and like the gas prices, etc.

However, sometimes when I navigate through many of the menus and want to just go back to my MAP screen or the main screen, I have to press the Back Button several times - annoying! Is there any way to go to main screen without pressing BACK several times?

My computer crashed and had all of my POI files lost. I thought i had backed them up,but i cant find them. Is there anyway to get them off of the unit so i can add more without losing the ones i have ? Thanks

After a 49 day (7 week) cruise starting in Florida and following the coast of South America around the Horn to San Francisco, I can sum up the usefulness of the GPS in two words, “why bother?”

Anyone know how to shut of the annoying ads for "Walgreens" and "Holiday Inn" etc.?

I recently bought a Garmin 260W at Costco (I also have a Garmin 265WT) and decided to check the diagnostic information pages on both. It looks like they both are running the same firmware version, have the same GPS chipset, and have similar hardware revisions (although the 260W had a V1 and the 265WT had a V2 in the revision number ....

Just a quick question for those who know, since the manual doesn't state anything about it; Is the 2.5mm plug on the side of the Nuvi Cradle an active stereo line output, or is it meant for something else?

Anyone tried the garmin 855? what were your impressions of it compred to the 7x0 or the 7x5 series?

Ok.. I think I finally have this to where it works pretty well. The only catch is you have to use green (0,255,0) as your background. It's OK if the object is anti-aliased to the backdrop.

1) Go to http://sites.google.com/site/raptorbase/ and
pick up GarminPNGBldr.zip. Unzip this to a temp directory and run the setup.exe file

My Garmin 755T has very bad reception indoors compared to a friends 350. Can I hook up a small piece of antenna cable somehow to that female threaded antenna connector? I was hoping for just a 1-1.5 foot piece round wire with a male insert (whatever size it is) that maybe would improve my reception indoors just enough to acquire satellites. Any help would be appreciated.

I am still getting "Updating GPS Firmware" messages almost everyday on my NUvi 765T screen. Today after firmware update (3.40) it is more frequent.
Is anyone else getting the same messages?
I will appreciate your feedback.

Under Tools>My Data there is an option to "Import Route from File". Where is this data or where can I delete this from? Thanks

... or can i only find Custom POIs through the "Where to?/Extras/Custom POIs" menu?

I wanted to get an 8GB memory card for a nuvi 780, a nuvi 765t, and a StreetPilot 7500.

Do they use an ordinary "SD" card?

Can they use a Sandisk 8GB SDHC (High Capacity) ?

I am able to search for a location in Google Maps, then "send" that location to my Nuvi 265WT. However last evening I located a hiking trailhead along a hiway in Oahu which I wanted to send to my Garmin and could not figure out how to do that.

I never noticed this before, as I always just used the Jack TTS (English) voice, but I see a lot of activity talking about Jill TTS voice.

It seems like Garmin will shortly be releasing a "connected" GPS for the masses. Just when you thought it was safe to put away that credit card ...

Seriously, a connected GPS from the market leader will surely be a good thing. With faster connection speeds and content availability, GPS is in for some big changes.

Maybe he should get the lifetime update, (of common sense!)

Can anyone say for sure whether or not the 760 has "hotfix"? Either in the unit right from the factory or if not, will a software update have hotfix in it? Need to know for sure as it could be the determining factor in whether or not I buy the 760 or the 755t. I know the 755t has hotfix plus lane assist, but I also understand the lifetime traffic is ad supported.

I'm having problems with POI Loader freezing up on more than 10,000 POI's. (not an exact number, but roughly where I'm losing capacity) All files are .gpx, converted to that format from .csv files via Turboccc's Extra_POI_Editor 2.99. Computer is a Compaq Presario 1500 with 256MB RAM. Windows XP.
