Mapupdater 3.3.3 & Windows 8
A friend has Windows 8 and he attempted to install 2014.40 using Mapupdater. After 3/4 completed with download, he got the Error Message (didn't see the exact message but assumed it was the same before 3.3.3 was released). I later installed 2014.40 using Windows 7 on my Nuvi and computer and there were no problems. Anyone else have issues with Windows 8 and Mapupdater?

How to factory reset Garmin Nuvi 265WT

saved places on map
Is there a way for my nuvi2595 to display ONLY my saved places on map?
If I select show places along road, I see tons of banks and places to eat and alot of other things clogging up the map that I am not interested in.
I would like to see ONLY my favorites.
The nuvi 265 displays saved places as small squares which is great! I have the 265 in a work vehicle.

A tale of two chargers
I was sorting through a rat’s nest of assorted car chargers and syncing cables for my various models of Nuvi's and I managed to sort most of them out and match them to their correct units except for two. They are for my earliest model a Nuvi 260 and its bigger brother a 260W. I have two chargers with two different part numbers and I am not sure which one goes with which unit.

Garmin/ AT&T Discontinue two way cellular NuLink service
I have a Garmin Nuvi 1690, it has the cellular data link with Google Local, etc. I also get traffic through that NuLink service.
I just got an email from Garmin that they are discontinuing the data service as of March 4th, 2015. A year from next month.
So no traffic for that unit anymore.
It never really worked all that well. Kind of glitchy.

Will Nuvi Work in Iceland?
Theoretically if one was available from Garmin, if I got a Street Maps of Iceland on an SD card, would it work in a 2495? 1490T? How exactly would one go about enabling the unit to function with the Icelandic map?

Garmin Map Updater - Install Error
I'm using Garmin Map Updater v 3.1.20 which is the latest version I can find to update my nuvi 855.
Before it does anything, I get the following error:
"An unexpected error has occurred and the program must close. If you continue to experience this, please contact Garmin customer support."

When you get the POI things on the Garmin 1490 is there a way to make the notification sound different? And possibly the type on the screen larger?

2597 routes
I did a couple of routes with the 2597 and found out it's different then my old 855. I looked in the manual and unless I'm overlooking it I can't find what I ran into.

map installs
Hi new to forum , hope someone can help.I have a nuvi 1350 which I have owned for a couple of years. I have a 4 GB sd card installed. I asked for a new map through the Garmin Express desktop app.A new map was downloaded but was not instlled on the GPS. Reason not enough room.

Garmin Express v2.5.6.0 Released
Garmin has released another update to their Garmin Express application. Version 2.5.6.0 is now available. No noticeable changes. Probably a maintenance update.

2014.40 Map details
Up till now I have not seen Alleys.
I normally park in garage on the alley, behind the house. It is not labeled, but it's there....
I noticed the alley is now on map.... I never noticed it before. Prior to this map it would look like I turned off road.

Using Garmin Express to download maps to computer
Can Garmin Express download new maps to be used in either Map Source and/or Base Camp? And if so where is that option.
Difference between Map Updates
Just went to get updates for maps (2014.4). It says that there are two map updates
1. Full coverage of North America 2014.40
2. nUMaps Lifetime North America 2014.40
What is the difference?
Should I download them both? They both seem to be the same size
