I have a Garmin that also show traffic and speed limit,but I notice that on some area if the speed limit on the road drop from 35 mph to 25 mph,the Gps it still show me that the speed limit at the specific area( is still 35mph instead of 25mph.( and this is about 1 mile speed limit 25 road )

I have two Garmins, 750 and 760. Lately, the location has been off about half the time by as much as 3,000 ft, while the satellite signal screen claims less than 30 ft accuracy.

I got the coordinates and the location as shown on the map. The map matches the coordinates, but way off from where I actually was. So the problem is the coordinates. Not the map.

Do any of the car manufacturers install a Garmin Nav unit that is actually able to be updated with LM and POIs just like a portable unit?

My 2597 is my first model with traffic and if my question is covered in the manual I can't find it. Does it make any difference in reception depending on how much of the power cable you have stretched out? I only need about half of the power cable and have the other half of the cable still wrapped around the base of the GPS.

How do I add speed camera data to an older Garmin manually?

Anyone here have any experience using the 2597's bluetooth's function with a cell phone? I understand the advantage is that if you look up a restaurant you can click on the number and call it without typing it into your phone. Does it also act as a handsfree system?

My state DOT operates traffic cameras (safety only) mainly along interstate, but some other major, highways and in response to asking, I have been provided their website which contains the coordinates for each of the hundreds of cameras across the state. It took some work but I formatted the data for a POIs I plan to upload to this site.

How does Garmin update their attractions? I searched near my workplace for places to eat, and found several that have been closed for years. Is there a way to get rid of the closed, and post the new open places?

Is there a way to adjust the line accuracy of these units? When I'm traveling on the highway it seems the unit sometimes doesn't show me in the right lanes. ie. express lanes, vs commuter lanes... drives me nuts!

Hi guys I was playing about with my nuvi 265w last night and like a fool I hit cut instead of copy...

I was trying to copy the contents of the internal memory to use as a back up.

When I realised my mistake I went to copy them all back but even though it appeared empty it said it was full?

I then formatted the drive (fat32) and put them all back on again.

I purchased maps for Europe for my Nuvi 350 in 2009 and the maps were delivered on a stnd SD card. Now I have a Nuvi 2460 LMT which has a micro SD slot. Can I just copy files from the stnd Sd card to my Mac and then onto a blank micro SD card and expect the maps to work on the Nuvi 2460 LMT?

I want to sell or give away my Garmin C530, but want to clear all user data from it first. So far, I've been able to clear Favorites and Recent places. All good.

I want to clear the password and secret place. Do I need to be at that place to do it, and can I completely clear that data as well?

In two weeks we are making a trip to the southern states. Does anybody know a wifi finder app for the states for my android phone?

i currently have a Garmin nuvi and just bought a new pioneer radio that allows use of an add on nav system wondering if i should abandon the Garmin and go for the built in nav system what would id be better off doing any ideas

For those of you that have the red light and speed camera on their Garmin, can you see the locations on the map in Base Camp? This would give some indication of locations when a trip is being thought out. Thanks

Is it possible to install a memory card on a Garmin Nuvi 1450i series GPS. Directions say to insert card in slit on device, but I can't find any slit. Help! Thanks.

Since this last update on my Garmin I noticed that my Garmin Nuvi will not route me on parkways at all. It avoids them at all costs.

There is no option in my nuvi that has a setting to avoid this.

Has anyone else heard of this problem?

(1) Can anyone advise me of the exact pixel dimensions for a nuvi 2597 splash screen?

(2) What image file format does the unit utilize?

(3) What dpi is optimal?

[I've temporarily (hopefully) lost use of my USB ports on my computer and I can check the installed splash screen but I wanted to work on building one.]

Hello, just joined and thrilled to have found this site. I have a quick question. Does anyone have experience with Kenwood GPS (Garmin) car head units? The tutorial for loading POI's onto my GPS unit says that I need to connect the GPS device to a computer, but I cannot do that with my unit. It does however have a USB female connection. Is there a tutorial on how to load POI files using a USB?
