what can i delete on my nuvi 1450

I don't know about deleting the "img" file but I have moved my POI files to my SD card to save space on the Nuvi.

oh, you can move the POI directory to the SD drive ? Seems like Garmin's POI loader program wanted to install a POI to the internal memory chip, hmmmmm

Just choose the sd card in the drop down menu in poi loader.
Be warned that depending on the model, every time you boot up you will be asked if you want to put them on the memory (internal). No way around it. I have learned to just tap the "no" button on my 1350.

I have the 1450. I deleted all the help files, all the voices except Jill, all the keyboard files except English and all the vehicles except one.
Before you do that, we recommend you you make a backup of your device and the card.

thanks, i discovered that after i posted the question! ya, i get a question to, something about if i want to use the file later, or something.....i just say NO..(no clue)

also, somehow i managed to get duplicate walmart poi's, gotta figure that one out

yes, i did that long ago also............but, what i don't know is, can i delete the old gmapprom.img from the .System directory on the internal memory, and how about anything else.

I "upgraded" to 2024.30, so i have the new gmapprom.img and .jcv file on my SD memory card.

Before you delete the gmapprom.img file, I STRONGLY urge you to back it up to your hard drive first.
Also back up the gmapprom.unl and gmapprom.gma files on the Nuvi. No need to delete those two from the Nuvi since they take up little space. The two files are for unlocking the map and autenticating it's a legal map. Should you ever put a newer map in internal memory, they will be replaced. If you put the old map back that you removed, they will be needed.

Same here, all my Poi files and red-light camera etc are on my sd card. I use only one voice so I deleted all the remaining voices that are installed by default
