yet another question,i have many custom pois loaded on my c330,i have differentproximity settings for each group,the one for pacific pride i have a proximity setting of 10000ft and it doesnt seem to work.is there a max.proximity distance that i dont know about that i cant go over? thnx

I talked with a CSR at Garmin the other day and they said they would send me the Mapsource CD. I just got a CD today that says "Map Update 2008" City Navigator North America NT. Is this Mapsource?

Also, I have a 760 that has City Navigator North America NT 2008. Is this actually an update, Mapsource, or what? I am new to all this stuff, but am learning quickly.

Does anyone know of a place that let's you download FREE audio book files for the Nuvi?! Like I said, maybe I'm dreaming with this request?! (LOL)

I saw this mentioned here and ordered a copy- actually I screwed up the order and the author kindly helped me out.
Cleaned up some files I was working on nicely.
ALL to say neat program.

Probably not news to veteran GPSers, but this new one just discovered something new on his month-old Nuvi 260 ... when driving around without a destination set, it displays the direction (compass) and mph. Today was the first time I used it without a destination set.

Okay, so I finally started tinkering around my GPS other than using to get to there from here.
Came across the WAGG/EGNOS setting and read about exactly what it is; http://www8.garmin.com/aboutGPS/waas.html

Now my question is do I need it enabled; I would guess not since it did not come enabled but why would it be offered as an option if it is supposed to be better?

I have noticed that my C530 GPS proposes a different departing route than the return route. It calculates that when leaving home, pass up the first 4 lane access highway to the interstate and drive west to the second 4 lane highway. However, on the return it has determined that the closer highway is a better choice.

I was listening to MP3 music from my Nuvi 660 over the fm output. When I approached a red light camera intersection, I didn't get the audible alert and the song started over. Not sure what happened there. Do you lose alerts when playing MP3's?

As a newbie, I've learned a lot in the last 12 days, but I'm still not clear about:
1.) Where/how does an associated jpg image show up when an alert triggers. In a test POI that I created, I get the red banner, I get the audio, but I don't see the image or the "description".

I was trying to update my nuvi350 software from Garmin site and saw this "GPS Chipset Type G" update. Can anybody advise me if I need that for my nuvi350?

I uploaded POI's using Garmin POI loader and when I navigate to Extras > Customs POIs, there are duplicate POI headings. How do I get rid of the duplicate entries? The POI works fine.

When someone makes a file here and has POI icons for it, how do I load those as well onto the device and allocate them appropriately?

I used my Desktop(XP) to update my software for my GPS last year.
My notebook is Windows VISTA.I used it to update my friends C330.It was a no go.Said"The Garmin is having trouble updating,make sure it is plugged in,and on".Been there done that.

I wonder if I can write off my GPS that I use for work has a Tool device?
I could not do with out the GPS for work.Gets me places for road calls,safe and fast.
I can't find my way out of a Brown paper bag without my GPS for work.

Garmin Mobile XT comes on a 2GB microSD card. Is it possible and legal to copy the card to a 4GB card and use the card for both Mobile XT and data?

I've noticed that when using the picture viewer, it's incredibly slow to load thumbnails, and then when you select a picture, it takes a while to load, and then disappears back to thumbnail mode within 3 seconds.

Any known issues with the picture viewer or am I screwing something up here that I don't realize?

Are there any video formats that will play on the nuvi 660 or does it only display .jpg still immages?

Is there someone with the firmware 2.70 version for the Nuvi200W.

With this version tracking is available for the Nuvi200W.
