proximity settings

yet another question,i have many custom pois loaded on my c330,i have differentproximity settings for each group, the one for pacific pride i have a proximity setting of 10000ft and it doesnt seem to work.is there a max.proximity distance that i dont know about that i cant go over? thnx

.

Keep in mind that the Garmin alerts work as an "along the road/route" alert not as a radius alert.

You must be traveling in the direction of the POI and on the road on which the POI is location and the POI must be sufficiently close to the road (around 50 feet or so) in order for the alert to sound.

The maximum distance that I have read is 37 miles.

proximity

thanx once again mm,but it would be nice if it did go in a radius especialy on the freeway where you cant see everything around you.i know you can find it other ways on the unit but the proximity works good so you dont have to search for it while driving.

.

Well, Phil can explain how you CAN do this with a GPX file instead of a CSV file.

Why not . . .

What am I missing? Why can't you just place the alert on the main highway with the address or instruction in the comments.

The 'radius' alert is a side-effect of setting up a TourGuide POI. However, TourGuides are only available on units that are capable of playing mp3's...which unfortunately, does not include the C330
