Duplicate POI entries

I uploaded POI's using Garmin POI loader and when I navigate to Extras > Customs POIs, there are duplicate POI headings. How do I get rid of the duplicate entries? The POI works fine.

Mac?

Are you by any chance using a Mac? I had that problem on my Mac but it worked great when I switched to my PC.

Vista

no, I am using Windows Vista.

In two places?

Any chance you could have a POI.gpi file on both your main Nuvi drive and an SD card? If so, delete one.

Only the Garmin.

I do not have the SD card inserted. Am using the Garmin only.

You didn't at one point

You didn't at one point rename the POI.gpi file and then reloaded another POI.gpi?

Possibly two files

Is it possible you have two files with the same poi's in them in the directory you are loading from?

I've created seperate

I've created seperate folders to organise the different types of POIs. Isn't that the correct way to do it? There is a POI.gpi file evey time I loaded using the POI loader. I will rename it and put it in its folder.

Your Method Sounds Fine

I was concerned you might have both a camera.gpi and a POI.gpi formed from the same csv file, but I now understand that you have duplicates of EVERY category. Do you have the latest POI Loader -- like I said, I had your same problem with the Mac version.

New POI Loader

So do I still rename the POI.gpi file or let the new POI loader just append to the created POI.gpi file?

You must still rename

POI Loader will not add to an existing POI.gpi -- it only replaces it. If my previous wording led you to think I knew of a new version that was more sophisticated, I'm sorry; I was merely asking whether you had the latest version, thinking that there could have been a bug/quirk in an older version since I certainly had the same experience with the Mac version.

It just hit me -- when you are running POI Loader for the second time and thereafter, you are pointing to a Source folder that has only the new csv or gpx files, right (not leaving the old files in there)?
