For the first time, I downloaded a POI in GPX from this site straight onto my Nuvi as a file. The file was the US & Canada Costco. I've a Mac and normally translate the GPX to GPI using Mac Garmin Tools.

Rather that showing up as a Category in Custom POIs, the file has disappeared off the drive and all the points (over 400) got sucked into my Favorites File.

I have good news, and bad news.

My free Map Update 2008 DVD arrived today. I started the update, but when I returned to see if it finished I found that the process failed. My computer was off! Not sure what caused it. I restarted my computer and tried to do the update again, but my nuvi 200 says: "No detailed maps found that support routing. The nuvi cannot be used without them."

I am looking at replacing my StreetPilot with the Zumo 550. I wanted to know if anyone has one and if they are happy with it. I was looking at using it in my auto and liked the idea of xm-traffic and the rechargable battery so I could mount it to my bike and use it that way as well. Any feedback would be great.

Just a reminder for some of the newer users of Garmin.

A couple of weeks ago I called Garmin and was as polite as possible. I mentioned that I had recently purchased my unit (350) and was wondering about the updated map software. She put me on hold and then asked if I could fax her my receipt. I said sure. So, I faxed it. She never really said she would send it.

But, today I got it:

I read on another forum that the new CNNT 2008 is quite a bit larger than V8, and on a Nuvi a user had to remove several custom files to make it fit. It was also noted that on the 330 it jsut barely fit.

Is there a diagnostic or other screen that will show the size of the HD on the 330, or the available space?

How many phones can be recognized by the Garmin bluetooth GPS. Thank you.

I am thinking to buy a garmin 370. $450. Do you think it is a good price? thanks.

Can anyone tell me why when the map is zoomed in to the most or second most you pass the road before it shows it on the screen. Is this just an issue with map and sats.... thoughts?

Got my Garmin C550 stolen last week. Ran in the house to grab something real quick, ended up taking 10 minutes... came back out and unit + power cable were gone. :c(

I have a Garmin c340 and when i tried to edit my locations/Favorites in EasyGPS software (such as adding a phone number into Comments) it never seems to work. It will only have one line of text when recalled on the c340.
What to do?

The Minimum System Requirements shows both PC and Mac. Is there a Mac version of City Navigator now?

I was reading an article over on GPSmagazine (http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2007/07/gpsmagazine_guide_to_geoc...), where the blog was about geocaching. The article mentioned that the nuvi and Streetpilot cXXX series were able to enter coordinates, however my c580 doesn't appear to have this ability.

Driving into SW Washington state, a couple of days ago, on State Road 14 East (WA 14 E), I was surprised to hear, "Take ramp, on right, to Western Australia 14 East."

There are new software updates for the 7500 & the 2730.

The newest version for the 7500 is 5.1
The newest version for the 2730 is 7.1

Here is what Garmin said about both these updates:

Hello everyone,

I'm a recent owner of a Garmin C340. I'm enjoying my GPS very much, but I have just a few quick questions regarding the operation of the unit.

my zumo 550 owners manual says 500 mp3's can be load , i get about 50 then says unit is full. any help

Picked up the Nuvi 360 yesterday as I am having a problem with the suction mount on my C330.

Initial thoughts as compared to my C330:

1) Nuvi 360 volume adjustment needs to be done via menu unlike the C330 which has a volume button on the side
